What's taking so long? Many thought this would be a very quick verdict. The jury asked for and watched the video of the shooting this morning and listened to the dad's 911 call.

Do you think they reach a verdict today ???

Rittenhouse was obviously innocent and took three days. These cases are heavy and complex. I’d much rather the jury take all the time they need to make sure they know what they’re deciding.

I'd think they would work expeditiously to get out before the holiday, so probably see a verdict today.

The case against the 2 non-shooting defendants is much more complicated. It makes sense that they’ll need at least 2 days of deliberation to parse out their verdicts.

There are a lot of charges and sub charges to go through.

Yeah like I don't think they get the malice murder charges but should get the felony murder charges. Some may be holding out for malice.

And the case against the videographer is tough.

That's my though. If it was just the shooter, a verdict would likely have already been reached. The other 2 are a little murkier.

8 hours doesn't sounds long. I was on a child abuse case and we deliberated for over 3 days. It's amazing how many people in our society do not understand the law. We had 3-4 jurors that were dead set on convictions based solely on the fact the defendant didn't take the stand. "He must be guilty" was their response.

I'm going to guess there is more evidence to consider than the media showed us, and that is taking more time.

Yeah I don't really understand those charges.. And don't really know why they are all on trial together..

Lumping 3 people (3 is right, isn't it?) into one case is a lot.
Only one pulled the trigger. Right?

Correct..
The other was in the bed of the truck and the last one was following filming.

Well the father/son in the lead truck chasing him are likely guilty of a violent felony (agg assault and some others similar to kidnapping). If they're guilty of those crimes, then they're guilty of 1st degree murder b/c AA died following those felonies.

Only the shooter will get life
Other two will get far less
Kind of surprised it wasn’t separate trials for each
I remember when houses were being built in my subdivision
I would walk thru to see the layout
Maybe he was looking for stuff he could steal but it’s not like his truck was backed up and loading stuff up
Maybe the plan was to return at night
Those guys should not have pursued him like that
You call police and report it if you think it’s suspicious

How the hell does that work in a public and televised trial?

Were there parts of the trial done in a secret tribunal?

This. Multiple defendants charged with different crimes, tried all at once. I'd have been surprised if it hadn't taken a while.

All will be declared guilty of something, though, with junior getting the worst of it.

Whatever happens to them, they'll still have to live with the shame of being declared stupid through expert testimony in a court of law.
