Did anyone else notice that Clint was drinking out of a “Thanos was right” coffee mug while in the apartment?

For better or worse, the realism of the Daredevil series always seemed to nerf the characters versus what we've seen in terms of movies and D+ series so far
You say that, but the action in Hawkeye isn’t that far removed from the action in Daredevil. I feel like Charlie Cox and Jon Bernthal could step right into one of these fight scenes without appearing underpowered at all. In fact I kind of feel like Cox’s Murdock would kick Clint Barton’s arse.
Now, compared to the movies? Sure.
The bigger difference between the Netflix shows and the MCU is the tone. The Netflix shows were really dark. That to me will be the more interesting thing to see Disney try to reconcile. Those shows were TV-MA, and the grit was a huge part of what made them great.

I feel like a bit of an idiot. I've seen all the MCU movies but didn't quite connect the idea that poor Hawkeye had to sacrifice his best friend to get his family back.
Never would've even considered that if his character wasn't fleshed out so well like it has been in this series.

You're missing an even bigger part of that. He was willing to sacrifice HIMSELF to get his family back and his best friend wouldn't let him. He's been dealing with obvious survivor's guilt the entire series.

I’m curious why Clint decided to take up the Ronin persona in the first place. I get that he was upset about his family, but he lives somewhere in New England, he had to have known someone was at the Avengers Campus.
I’m glad that they are bringing in the Defenders, but I honestly hope they leave the stories they told with them in another universe. Vincent as Wilson and Charlie as Matt made the Daredevil series work. Not saying everything else was shite, but they were definitely the best part of those series.
I believe Clint is more or less done with being an active Avenger after this series. He’ll take down Kate’s mom, get things sorted with Yelena, and informally or hell maybe formally pass the torch to Kate. The Kingpin plot will carry over to Echo which is where he and Matt will show up again.

Missouri isn't New England.

So (I guess spoilers)
Do the bow & arrow gang get some "help" fighting the large white-suited man this week?

hawkeye, green arrow, black sparrow are the aTm'est characters of the dc/marvel universe. just absolutely horrendous.
When you see them, you root for the villains.

I pray Spider-Man shows up. But it will probably be Yelena helping.

shite I would assume so. I’m only three episodes in and enjoying it, but man, Renner has really aged. He looks small and worn out. He was always the weakest Avenger (tied with widow) and he’d look even more out of place now.
It’s probably been discussed and probably unavoidable but Kate’s total superhuman awesomeness at everything, including her ability to beat up big dudes, is tiresome. She’s basically an even less believable Widow.

What show are you watching? She screws up a lot and hasn’t won many fights.

She’s held her own in fights and shook off some big hits against the gang guys in the first few episodes.

quote:according to the show, she's been in competitive martial arts since the age of 4. She's been able to take a couple shots without crumpling, and she's used leverage and such to put a couple on the ground. She hasn't beaten anyone's arse.

I haven't seen anything unbelievable in the show. When she's wearing the Ronin outfit, guys are wary of her, because Ronin killed a bunch of them. In the times against guys while not in the suit, she catches them by surprise by having some technique. Nobody's bullrushed her because she's "just" a chick, and they're usually worried about Clint at the same time.

She certainly seemed too capable in the first episode, but I think in later episodes has shown to be more in the way when things have escalated. I mean it was pretty much implied that she could have very easily been killed in the 4 way battle on the roof.
I'm sure her mother wasn't just giving her karate lessons at the nearby dojo seeing as she has underground connections and almost seems to be grooming Kate into some type of assassin. (At first I thought the mom was just allowing her to live out her hero fantasy growing up with all the training, but her implied darker side and such makes me wonder if the mom didn't have ulterior motives)
