Which OT Baller is going to step up, or will Antique Tiger go after the cans for resale?

quote:

“Catfish” John Kahl died two years ago, at age 85, and his 3,000 beer cans belong with somebody who appreciates them like he did, Luverne Kahl said. So the cans are up for auction.

Whoever buys them better have a lot of space. John Kahl's beer cans line the walls of an entire room of the house he and Luverne shared, in a shady patch of woods near the town of Pearl River. From floor to ceiling, and corner to corner, the room is striped with narrow shelves that hold his trove.

quote:

To view the online auction of 2500 of Catfish John's cans, search for "Life Time Beer Can Collection," located in Pearl River on the EstateSales.net website. The starting value is $3,000 and the auction continues until Dec. 11. At this writing, there have been no bids.

Cans like in the top picture always make me wonder why people would drink brake fluid.

There’s a man here in BR with a barroom in his house and the walls are all lined in those cans. Throws a heck of a Halloween party.

isn't there a bar or restaurant somewhere in the BR area that has shelves of beer cans lining the wall like that?

I would have thought they’d start at way more than $3,000.

Only a dollar a can? I bet you could flip some of the rarer ones online for 5-10 bucks individually

About 15 years ago, I bought a 3000+ beer can collection (paid $300 for it). There were about 20 funnel cans that brought about $1000. I ended up buying a box that held 50 cans. I was selling them for $25 each.

I ended up giving away over 1000 cans

Never again!!!! It took me two years to get rid of them. It was the only time I had to rent a storage unit to store something.

That's man cave material. A wall of beer cans, wall of vinyl records, etc.

They are worth about $60 if recycled. That's $0.70 per pound, depending on your area. About 35 cans per pound. Equals $60.

That sounds horrible, but at least you made a little profit.

I bought a box of about 20 for $5 the other day and gave them to the bro-in-law for his liquor store.
