If Riley says no so late that we lose Aranda, would that be considered a huge fail?

I have Riley as 1 and Aranda as 2 and I think that should be everyone's 1/2 these days, but there is a lot of smoke that Aranda and USC have mutual interest. I don't know if our window is very open for Aranda, and it appears Riley is dragging this out. If he does this on purpose and Woodward allows himself to be left hanging much longer, we're going to likely lose whatever shot we have left at Aranda.

Woodward would have slim pickings after that. Napier seems to be begging so hard for the job that I guess he's always a backup plan. He's vastly inferior to what Aranda can potentially do here, though.

Yes and many on here would still suck Woodward off that he's the goat.

Certainly, and I hope Scott is hedging if that is the case. But I can see timing playing a huge part.

In the end, Dave can stall if he truly wants LSU over USC. I think if he ends up at USC and we don’t get Riley, it will be because Dave wanted to be at USC more. Of course, the disclaimer here is that he didn’t get drug along too long

As much as you hate it and I hate it Aranda is the last resort. He’s behind Napier. I have mentioned in other posts why that is.

We won’t lose Aranda..he’s not going anywhere in the next 10 days, maybe even 17 days to play with if he makes the Big12CG

If we end up with Napier or BoB and Aranda goes to USC because Woodward got played by Riley, Woodward should be in deep shite

It would most certainly be a disaster to lose Aranda if you were sitting around waiting on Riley.

I hope Woodward wouldnt let that happen and has a timetable with both of the coaches.

The price for Riley I think would be overpaying for Aranda, but you overpay Aranda to not lose him

Why? I have Aranda above Napier on my wish list, but both are big risk, with Aranda being the bigger risk.

of course it is would be a fail. "huge" is your term.
interesting negative take.

we agree 100%.

Where we differ is that I seem to trust Woodward much more than you do. Or, I am just a more positive person than you.

I don’t know. We aren’t privy to the discussions.

If Riley is being extremely engaging and just being an outright liar, I don’t blame Woodward. If Woodward is being naive and obviously getting played, then yes it’s a failure by him

and it appears Riley is dragging this out.
based on what? Don't jump into message board crap. That's not how the real world works. If Riley is the guy you won't know until after OU's season is over. Has always been that way, Idk why people think the fact that nothing has been announced means anything.

Of course. Particularly because this all in approach is what cost us last time

From what is reported, Lincoln Riley was given an insane offer. Put a deadline on that shite if he can’t decide.
