Implications of the Rittenhouse verdict

Regardless of how you feel about the case, one aspect of the defense - as corroborated by the guy shot - is that Kyle did not shoot until he had a gun pointed at him. If the jury finds Kyle guilty, that is a potentially major precedent moving forward.
So, easy question first: if you are not breaking any laws, are you allowed to shoot to defend yourself if someone merely points a gun at you?
Harder question: if you answered yes, should that also apply if the person pointing a gun at you is a cop?
I say yes to both. It blows my mind that we have reached a point where we are OK with police going around pointing guns at ordinary citizens doing nothing. You want the police to learn de-escalation? Make it where they need to be more careful who they point their guns at.

9 times out of 10, if the cop is pointing a gun at you, your suspected of breaking the law.
So this is a stupid question.
So this is a stupid question.

It's exactly what the left wants to promote their "gun control" utopian vision. (In truth, they want all guns confiscated and banned.)

This case, similar to the Chauvin trial, shows that liberals are the true tyrants who will threaten and riot their way into ruining the lives of people they don’t like. This case should’ve never been tried.

Uhhhhmmmm...this was more than someone "merely point[ing] a gun" at someone. This was a VIOLENT MOB chasing this kid down because he wasn't down for the BLM/Antifa cause.

Employers, consider giving your Black employees a day or two off after the Rittenhouse verdict. Regardless of the outcome, it’s going to be hard for Black people to work and it isn’t fair to expect them to.

Your questions come across as very black and white but that's not at all how situations normally pan out.

This may be the most ridiculous attempts at justification for shooting cops I have ever heard. What a wild thing to even say. The number one thing you should do when facing the barrel of a gun being held by the police is COMPLY WITH THEIR DIRECT ORDERS, not open fire on them.

That isn't how criminal cases work.

One of the first rules of a fire arm is you only point it where you want to shoot it.

You can tell you've never had a gun pointed at you. That barrel man, it looks like the size of a manhole.

Why is this being spun into a race narrative? All the people involved were white. I has the confused.

It's the last ditch attempt to convince themselves Kyle did something murder level wrong. Being racist in their minds is almost as bad as being a murderer.
