Didn't bag anything here yesterday evening. This is the coldest morning of the year thus far for this area, so I expect them to be moving.

31 and way too windy. I’m blowing all over the place here, sitting at 27’ in my lock on.

AR-15, 6.5 Grendel with Hornady SST

Opening day of firearms season and my usually calm neck of the woods is buzzing. Most of the hunters cone out from the city and won’t take anything less than a big 10 point. Good for me since I hunt meat and will pop a nice doe if given the chance.

Good luck everyone!

On doe patrol in north east, MS. .444 marlin, millennium m7 on the edge of some custover. I'm going to be sick if a big nasty buck walks by.

I spent $100 on a box of ammo. Going to try and line the does up to get my money out of it.

Hunted this stand all day yesterday and saw 8. Couple nice bucks but of course it’s doe-only this weekend. They’ll be MIA once full season opens up next Saturday. First big doe that comes out is taking a dirt nap. Didn’t bring near enough clothes to sit all day again. Good luck OB.

Woke up late a forgot my jacket. Luckily for me I had the LOUDEST rain coat in my tool box.

All does still in groups. Which is weird because our rut is usually pretty heavy by Nov 10. Saw 9 does yesterday...1 buck

You sure she doesn't need a 6.5 ? Since they are soooooooo much more accurate. A 6.5 would make her a better shooter just because it's a 6.5. might have less recoil too.

Of course why would a 12yo shooting a 270 care about recoil.

Just remember, if a 4,6,8,10,12,14 point walks out.......it better be at least 12yo too.

just had to get all that in
thank you for introducing your child to the outdoors, keep it simple and you both will make memories for a lifetime

Missing MO opening day for the first time in my life. For a wedding.

Reports from there is it’s 32F, sunny, the rut is on and my brother in law just sent me a pic of a buck down.

Some kids went full ham on the woodies right across the highway from my house. And I mean RIGHT across. Probably 50 feet off the highway.
