re: Broadhead question

Posted by prisontiger on 11/1/24 at 7:53 pm to
I shoot this exact broadhead, 125gr, in a Ravin R10. Have shot them since they came out. Originally they were marketed as a crossbow head but then they stoped as other Pro Series heads came out. I have never had anything but great results. Killed a little doe at 68 yards with one this week.

First, the hell with what anyone else thinks. If it’s legal and it get you and your kids out together enjoy that time. It goes very fast!
Second, I had a Barnett before I got a Ravin and I tried several brands, Gold Tips and small diameter blue streaks, but the factory ones always shot better.
Getting that time. Was just up at our farm we lease in SW Wisconsin. Got 9 cell cams running, food plot looking good. Getting good pics already. Fired up for two trips, 3 weeks total hunting bow and rifle.

It was Firearms Depot. When I look on my account it shows 270 Win, so I guess it’s my own fault. I had it filtered to WSM so I don’t know how those showed up. If anyone wants them cheap let me know. I’m in Cenla.

Gunbroker issue

Be careful ordering ammo on Gunbroker. Recently purchased some ammo. Add was for 270 WSM 130gr Winchester ballistic silvertips. Received 270 WIN. Customer service claims I got what I ordered. Had the whole search filtered on caliber. I’m certain that’s what was advertised. Live and learn. Guess I’ll try to resell them cheap.

Couldn’t be happier. Long drive but it’s a slice of heaven. We average 1/yr between us from 140” - 162”.

The ballistic profiles are far more detailed for bullets. I can’t wait to try it on a rifle given the results I’ve already seen.

Product review: Sig Sauer BDX Combo

Posted by prisontiger on 9/22/21 at 6:54 pm
I’ve been looking at this combo for a while and finally caught it on sale at the Outdoor Classic. I went with the BDX1600 range finder and the 3.5-10 x 42 scope. Mounted it on a Ravin R-10. My thought is to get another scope next year for the rifle.

Initially mounted the scope but ran out of adjustment while still shooting 4” high at 30 yards. After a new set of rings and 25 MOA of cant I got back to the range last weekend.

Took a while to get it zeroed in at 30. But once I got it dialed in it was time to see how well the tech side works. Went out to 47 yards, then 66, then 77, and finally 93 yards. Shooting into a Morrell target with small maybe 2” bullseyes, each time I only fired once and each time I couldn’t place the width of my index finger between the shaft and the black circle.

If anyone is looking at this system and on the fence I can say I was blown away. It exceeded my expectations.

Dollar for dollar my favorite. Smoked an Opus X Lost City last weekend that I’d been saving for the completion of my LSUS MBA. Was underwhelmed considering it’s twice the price.

Tatuaje are nice, haven’t had one in a while. Need to add that to the list.

Thanks guys. I stumbled across Corona Cigar Co. and loaded up a nice cart. Just wanted to make sure y’all didn’t have issues with online purchases before pulling the trigger.
I can only imagine the feeling of receiving $100 worth of damaged cigars

Any of you guys buy online? This lockdown is making that look more attractive. I’ve always bought in the store. Any reviews or recommendations appreciated.

Did my part boys. I’m just a lurker but the OP is an idiot! And I live in DC.
The ADX is no joke. The vestibule arrangement of doors is to keep staff from being “gassed” when delivering items through the slot. That little treat is when they save up their feces and urine and mix them up to form a nasty concoction they then throw at/on staff using any kind of container they may have in their cell.
