Not really strange, but funny story.

note: If anyone says they caught speckled trout with a crawfish in it you win.

Buddy of mine has killer bass pond, like a high fence for bass. The pond belongs to his old man, the one rule for the pond is "no soft plastics" because the bass will ingest them, die, stunt growth, etc. Well we were cleaning a mess of about 50 "keepers" from there one day and my buddy was doing not a great job while his old man watched. Old man something to the effect of " let me show you how its done, baw" put his beer down and proceeded to fillet the only bass with a watermelon red senko in its belly.

Have caught several bass with field mice tails sticking out of their throats.

Bull reds will take this in a walk though.

My funny story:

Took a buddy of mine fishing one morning a few years ago. He made a cast with a little paddle tail soft plastic swim bait. A bass hit it, he set the hook and fought it for a second, then his line broke off at the hook. I laughed and said I'll get him for ya and casted in the same spot. Sure enough it hit my lure, I set the hook and reeled it in.

Later that afternoon while cleaning the fish I cut this one open and wouldnt you know, theres his lure and hook. I laughed a little, then sent him this pic asking if he wanted his hook back

ETA: Please don't judge my terrible filleting skills. This was early on in my fishing days and my technique was far from perfect, and still is if I'm being honest.

Caught a bass at Caney Lake that had not one. Not two. But three plastic lizards in its gut. Only thing I can think of is that someone was casting to it on a bed and it was short striking.

Caught this bass on a popper and saw something moving in its belly. Cut it open and pulled out a live crawfish. Threw the crawfish back and kept the bass.

Bleu Cheese Stuffed olive, pack of raw chicken wings, and a half digested sac a lait BEFORE he hit on my hot dog -- Catfish.

Ol boy was bellied up at the bar something fierce is the only explanation of how he still had any room in there for a shitty hot dog after a meal like that.

I have gotten a couple turtles out of their bellies through the years. I guess that’s why the turtle lures have been coming out…..

By the time I'm done, there is very little wasted meat, however when its time for a fish fry, its more like fish nuggets rather than fillets

Back in the 1980’s I caught a small bass, about half a pound that had a red boat key chain floater in its stomach. That was in alligator bayou off of blind river. Crazy stuff.

Found a squirrel in the belly of a 2 lb spotted bass once. Small squirrel but squirrel nonetheless.

Nothing too interesting. I cut into a redfish and the gut farted. I then pulled out a plastic shot cup. Fish must have had indigestion (really) from that blockage.
