How Did Mark Zuckerberg get away with this shite?

Can someone explain this to me? I lost a few friends and family due to the spread of misinformation and conspiracy theories on facebook.
From cancer being linked to 5G cell phones and so forth. The real swamp is facebook and them collecting "metadata" to build a bias algorithm against us conservatives as Trump said on the campaign. Why didn't Trump go after him during his presidency and have him face legal charges? Why is there a media black out on people's privacy being eroded to spy on us? There is a link between their wonky algorithm and political violence in unstable countries. He changed the name of Meta just when a whistleblower called him on his shite. Yeah, real coincidence. All Zuck and his cronies care about is money and not transparency. Tell me, how is that a fair and just democracy while the middle class gets screwed over by Silicon Valley? They ruined SF, Austin, Portland and LA by pricing every one out.
When will the masses wake up to the corporate tech overlords screwing them over?

I wouldn't know. I have never been on Facebook. I can't imagine why anyone would waste valuable time on it when there are more important and constructive things to do.

The 5G conspiracies were bullshite misinformation campaigns. No one thought they'd get cancer or covid or any of the other made up conspiracies that no one adhered to. People wary if 5G are so because it greatly increases government tracking and surveillance power, something we already know they do as much as they can as is. It's not unreasonable at all to worry about it.

And at this point, you don’t have to be - 99.99% of every app on every phone is owned, ultimately, by Facebook, Apple, Google, or Microsoft. And three levels deep on any “terms of agreement” every user agrees to release their data via their microphones and cameras.
They aren’t even hiding it - everyone is outright agreeing to it, it’s just no one bothers to read anymore.
With that said - back to my point - “being on Facebook” doesn’t matter. You are being tracked and spied on by them and others ALL day long, if not by your phone, by other people’s devices around you.
