I feel like it would be a lazy search and hire and I just don’t feel like SW would have a lazy search like Aleva had.

I think Jimbo would do fine here but he is not going to come in an start winning titles year in and year out.

I pray we get someone one young and full of fire like Aranda, Napier or Riley who will hopefully stay for the long hall and build a dynasty.

I'd immediately send a letter to Jeff Landry requesting investigation for kickbacks Jimbo/Woodard. That's some beyond lazy, crooked ole boy crap if so.

Jimbo has worked so hard on his fake TX accent though.

If you look at the Jimbo contract at A&M (specifically the no buyout on Jimbo if he chooses to leave), and factor in that Woody I’m sure knew he would end up here. I think it’s totally plausible this has been in the works for a long time and is certainly ripe for corruption. Woody getting kickbacks from the massive amount of money he gave Jimbo at A&M, etc. It’s like textbook Louisiana old money political gamesmanship.

I’m not saying this is certain, just saying it’s not crazy.

Isn’t Sexton Jimbo’s agent?

I thought the whole no buyout was part of Sexton’s shtick for his clients.

Jimbo is arguably the best QB coach in the country and an excellent playcaller. He would have the support to hire and pay the top assistant coaches, which he never had at FSU.

He had Florida State with zero athletic support a consistent top 5 program and won a national championship and appeared in a playoff.

He is a top recruiter, and also develops his recruits.

He is just now getting his players in and developed at Texas A&M and, lets face it, it's A&M, they'll always throw away games.

He just beat Saban with his backup QB. If that aint coaching...

Jimbo would be great at LSU, regardless of what you think about him

Yes. And Sexton is super close with Woody. They are all connected.

You’d call Saban a lazy search.

Jimbo is one of the best coaches in CFB. Is he the best fit? I don’t know, but my money would be on SW to find the coach who is.

He an excellent OC, and LSU pays top dollar to assistants. He has recruited for decades across the south, Florida, Louisiana, Texas. He would be a very good hire.

I would have no issues with this hire, and I also wouldn't have any issues if this were the type of search SW conducted. Jimbo Fisher is a top-flight coach. He has won everywhere he has been, he has recruited well, and he has developed his players. If there is anyone on the Saban coaching tree that is the closest thing to a slam dunk with minimal risk, it would be Jimbo. I'd be excited about his organizational skills, player development skills, coaching skills, and recruiting acumen, especially when handed the resources he'd get at LSU.

You'll see it is the same as the no buyout clause they had with Sumlin. Was Woodward pulling strings at A&M before he even got there? Talk about 4D chess.

FTR, a Jimbo hire is not really exciting to me.
