Correct on both counts.
MacArthur let his love of, and payments from, the Philippines guide his strategy which cost the lives of thousands of US soldiers and led to the destruction of Manilla costing the lives of 10's of thousands of civilians.
Dugout Doug is our most overrated general.

The government fricking prolonged it by taxing the shite out of everything they could get their hands on and killing opportunity. Because that's what leftist pieces of shite do.

Yeah, and the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

FDR began the welfare society. That's bad enough, but he allowed Communists agents and sympathizers into the government (McCarthy was right).
MacArthur had several hours of warning after the attack on Pearl Harbor, yet still neglected to disperse his air assets, resulting in most of them being destroyed on the ground.

FDR is damn near unanimously a top five president in any poll of historians. He wasn't elected to an unprecedented fourth term by his contemporaries for no reason. If not for FDR, we may be speaking a different language or living a 2nd world lifestyle right now.
Social Security has been abused by Congress for decades...the idea itself was a necessity. You can't be a civilized society while your elders are dying on the streets, homeless and starving. The Depression was a direct result of unadulterated capitalism, and it wasn't a pretty sight.
FDR was a capitalist through and through, but also recognized you couldn't run a society on unabated/unregulated capitalist principles.
As to MacArthur, from what I've read he basically went from being a brilliant tactician and leader to something akin to Colonel Kurtz...ate up with war, violence, death, and living a different reality than the rest of us.

If we've learned anything in the last ten years or so, it's that Joe McCarthy has been completely vindicated.

FDR is a bottom five president in the real world. I don't give a shite what some historian says. He was a massive piece of shite and didn't see a single word of the US Constitution that he didn't want to wipe his arse with at a moment's notice. We most assuredly would be 1000000x better off had he not been president during the depression. He prolonged it by years and then in turn, what did we get for him prolonging it? One of the largest, most steaming piles of shite ever thought up, social security. What he did was create a permanent class that is dependent on taxpayer dollars.
He was as anti-capitalist a president as we've ever had. He was a piece of shite and if Wilson planted the seed for massive government spending and leftism in government, then Roosevelt is the person that got the ball rolling. frick him, he deserves all the ridicule that is thrown his way.
But of course, you've never met a massive left wing jackass that you wouldn't gladly felate.

Well, I guess I should ignore the historians and take the word of some dumbass who names himself after the brand of dip he uses.

Yeah, a bunch of historians that also put people like Barack Obama and Lyndon Baines Johnson in the top 10 all time presidents. Excuse me if I don't take their words or point of views seriously on the matter.

You understand that they poll historians of all political stripes, right?
Obama hasn't made the top 10. If he eventually does, it'll be due to the Great Recession.

I mean, I'm not sure what lists you're looking at because the ones I'm looking at most certainly do.
What about the Great Recession and his job during it makes you believe that he is a good president?

Best part about you having to walk that back is that it's the first link on the google search. So that tells me that you formed a conclusion before you actually knew what the hell you were talking about.

Totally "got me", dude. I guess I should've Googled it like you did instead of relying on my memory and not realizing a new list that moved him from 12 to 10 was released 4 months ago.
It eats you up that he's number 10, though. I do enjoy that.

In the sense that him being anywhere near the top 45 is a completely inaccurate narrative painted by "historians" then yeah, it does kinda piss me off. Just like "historians" espousing the 1619 project and CRT. I don't respect liars.
