Just and FYI to anyone that may be on the Square in Oxford this weekend. They are cracking down on the LSU is in town rules.

Worst away game experience I have ever had was at Oxford acouple years ago...

We were watching at the round table in the square. The second we lost all hell broke loose. Everyone surrounding our group threw beer on us. The bartenders refused to serve us. We had been buying beers all day and during the game but the second we lost they started charging $20 a beer and something like $50 a shot. Those were the prices for anyone in purple.

Trashy place. I'll never go back.

The square will have checkpoints and barricades.
Sounds like a fun place.
Tell me again how awesome the Ole Miss tailgate experience is.

We’re only going as we have a student in school there. Twice for this matchup in oxford will have been enough for me.

Ole Miss has some of the worst/trashiest fans in the SEC and it ain't even close. Miss State fans (right next door) are pretty awesome generally speaking. It surprises me how many right wing rednecks are huge ole miss fans when they don't have any affiliation to the school and it's pretty dang woke.

Haven’t been in years but I remember my girlfriend at the time pre making a bunch of Jack and Cokes to bring to the grove and I was super confused

All we have to do is fill in the name, and drop them off at jail and then go back out.

Nice to see the fricking Gestapo will be out in full force.

My adult son and I went to a game a few years back. Oxford is cute, quaint but that’s it. The Grove…highly overrated! No open flames…food all catered in…everybody stacked one top of one another. The female talent, while nice, is no better than what I see on campus on game day. Glad we went but no need to go back.

We went in ‘07, so maybe it has changed, but a few lessons we learned the hard way:
-No open flames on campus. Got super lucky on this one, no cops found us grilling, but some snooty ole miss fans were happy to tell us as they walked by.
-Lock your cooler. Yes, the cops will literally open your cooler and take your beer/alcohol if you are in P&G.
-Be careful filling your cup. You gotta be sneaky.
-There is zero space in the grove and the tents are literally on top of each other. I got yelled at by another snooty ole miss fan after I didn’t realize where our catered food ended and theirs started and was eating their food.

Overrated “tailgating” experience, but the scenery is excellent. I did also enjoy Oxford, nice college town.
