I admit my skills as an outdoorsman are lacking
Here’s how I rate myself

Hunting pros
I’m a fair shot with a rifle. Not a sniper by any means.
Decent at cleaning squirrels and deer.
I hold my cool well enough when a decent buck is around for the shot.
Decent at blood trailing deer and love doing it. (Especially when it’s someone else’s deer)

Confidence and patience is both a strength and a weakness of mine. It changes like a rollercoaster.
The same is true for unfavorable weather. Some cold rainy days or hot sweaty days I can sit on a stand and hunt, other times I get lazy and stay in.

Cons
I’m not good at shooting moving game like ducks or rabbits
Not good at determining fresh deer sign
Not good at patterning deer
I don’t know the first thing about a duck. If it’s not a mallard or a wood duck I don’t even know what it is

Fishing pros. (Freshwater. I don’t really fish salt)
I’m not bad a backing in the boat trailer
I’m good conversation for my fishing buddy

Cons
Not good at patterning fish
Not good at choosing lure color
Fishing and running the trolling motor in the wind gives me fits
If they aren’t biting my confidence is poor. (Yeah I’m talking to you mr sacalait)
Don’t really know the difference in some fish. blue cats bs channel cats. Sunfish, I tend to call them all a bream. Striped bass, not sure I ever caught one
Not good at filleting fish.

Thermacell. Now you have no weaknesses.

I apparently suck at deer hunting or I just suck at hunting public land. Tried to scout areas to find signs, but you’re competing with tons of other people. I haven’t seen anything in years and my schedule starts sucking arse in November thru the end of the year so I’d feel bad spending money to join a lease. I enjoy hunting, love being in the woods, love shooting especially the bow. Even bought a saddle to try hunting out of a tree to really give myself every opportunity.

But I find myself getting frustrated and discouraged. I’ll find bedding areas and then come back the next day and see nothing. Follow trails and tracks for nothing. Post up over trees with acorns on the ground and nothing. I didn’t really hunt as a kid and just really picked this back up in the last five years so I’ve tried to self teach everything.

Strength:
Patience. I can sit in a stand all day and fish all day even if nothing's biting.

Weakness:
Out of shape. I doubt I could drag a deer 50 yards.

Pro: Pretty good with a duck and turkey call
Con: Call too much.

Not very patient when turkey hunting.

Deer hunting. Just bought a piece of property and have a lot to learn about how and where they want to be. Have planted a couple of plots and they are using them but they need to grow. I'm enjoying learning everything and trying to figure out where to put my stands.

Pros:
-Solid wingshot.
-Can rabbit hunt/shoot with the best of them.
-Patient in the blind.
-Can catch fish all fall/winter (saltwater)

Cons:
-Have a hard time sleeping before a big hunt (I used to do this a lot with fishing, but I can now.)
- Can't deer hunt when it is cold cold, I need to move.
- Struggle fishing in the spring/summer.
- Can't keep rifles sighted in.
- I have a hard time eating game that I clean, idk why the warm guts and smelly intestines turn me off.

I'm a good shot.
Love cold weather.
Lots of patience. (When it comes to hunting)
Decent at tracking.

Cons:
Not in the greatest shape.
Absolutely hate heights. So lots of shaking as I climb a tree with a climbing stand.

I was talking to an old guy at a camp last weekend and he was swearing that he could blood trail better than a dog because the only color he could see is red.

Strengths: attention to detail when scouting/picking trees. Strong understand of how thermals/wind affects scent dispersion. I spend the majority of my free time in the woods whether it be hunting or foraging so I usually know the woods I'm in like the back of my hand. I can load a flintlock while at a dead sprint. If there is a pig in the woods I can usually find it. I can track a falcon on a cloudy day. I'm in fairly good shape. Excellent butcher and chef. I'm pretty short so I can stay below the understory and move quickly.

Weaknesses: I'm pretty short so wading can be challenging. I'm full of shite.

Cons:
I live in South Texas and unless you shite gold or have that black gold under ground you literally cant afford to hunt. Leases will run you at a low rate of 3500-5000 a year with the normal rate being 5000-10000 a year and most are one trophy buck limits. There is little to no public land.

Pros:
Well, I live in South Texas and there are more deer than rabbits. I only own 4 acres myself so I feed all year long and pull a few over from the neighboring property.

Outdoors:
Strengths:
1. Good at reading sign. Seem to have a knack for stand locations.
2. Wouldn't say sniper but solid shot with bow and gun.
3. really good with a knife. Clean and cook well.
Weaknesses:
1. Patience.... not in general but with a particular stand. I get bored with a stand and want to see fresh scenery way too much.
2. Moving objects.... probably why I don't duck hunt hardly any anymore.
3. Offseason. I always intend to feed all summer and work on habitat but I seldom follow through.

Fishing:
Strengths:
1. Fished tournaments for 20 years so I'm fairly decent and reading conditions.
2. Fairly decent at finding fish and breaking down a new body of water.
3. I'd put my flipping/pitching skills up against anyone.

Weaknesses:
1. Electronics- I suck at reading them and using them to find fish.
2. Crappie- never done it much and am not good at it.
3. Deep water bass fishing- never really had the patience or the high dollar electronics to get good at it.

If I had time I could list MANY more weaknesses for both!

Mine vary from week to week. One week I drop a deer in its tracks, next I miss a gobbler at 5 yards. One week I skin a deer no problem, next I slice my finger requiring stitches. One week I make a whole day up in a tree or in the blind, next I gotta take a dump first 5 minutes. Life of an outdoorsman.
