If this team only loses 2 more games this year, I'd say give 'em another year.

LSU is taking a recruiting hit presently because he's still here.

Remember the cool video simulator of opposing players to practice against and other key additions to the practice facility during the 2019 campaign. Imagine all of the potential recruits that would take that in as they'd be willing to make a visit to LSU; because Orgeron is gone.

This really is a shite argument for not firing a coach. I know everyone thinks O is this master recruiter, but if we’re honest he didn’t really move the needle in one direction or the other compared to Miles.

Now, let’s just say he continues this trajectory (which we all know is likely), do you really fricking think LSU keeping him to just got 6-6 (or worse) is going to go over well with recruits? The smarter thing to do is can his arse and get your guy signed. The day the season ends for said guy, announce his hiring and let him worry about maintaining the class. If O is allowed to do further damage to the brand and program, then you’re more likely to lose recruits than keep them.

Entering season 9-3 Title IX issues do not blow up.
Entering Season 8-4 Title IX issues will blow up. Fired for just cause

That hasn't changed

Dude, we're staring down the barrel of a 7 or 8 loss season. Aside from ULM, which other game(s) do you feel confident about?

At this point, I'm just hoping we can squeeze out a couple more SEC wins somehow and get to 6-6, avoid a losing season again, and self impose another bowl ban.

It's going to hurt recruiting in long run if you get this guy who can't coach and can't get it done

Other coaches are going to negative recruit him and his coordinators

don't following recruiting at all like i used......however, IF recruits start jumping ship, THIS IS THE EXACT REASON TO DO IT SOONER RATHER THAN LATER.

some kids love lsu. some love O. some love both. some love a winner..........showing a change is made could keep some current ones here......and keep undecided's ears open.

Normally I would agree with you but Early Signing Day has changed that dynamic. The problem with firing somebody before ESD is you have to use an interim or have an outside target that is obtainable before ESD. However I believe you are starting to see earlier terminations because of it

How about a counter argument. O staying full season hurts recruiting more as our friends across the conference get to tell them all about how O is going to be fired within a year anyways and just look how bad LSU is right now, just imagine another year!

They will say do you really want to attend a school that might not be bowl eligible and potentially be stuck at a school trying to rebuild?

Or…we can fire O, have the people still on the staff keep recruiting them promising them that the new coach will be a slam dunk hire and we will be top tier within the SEC again within another year.

Which one sounds better/will help recruiting more?

I’m trying to remember if they fired Chizik mid season or waited until the last game. I don’t remember but I do think the early signing period could cause him to be fired before season end. Only problem is the coaches you want aren’t going to leave until at least season end.
