Yellowfin 24 bay would be the perfect boat for your situation.
JK: I’ve been looking for a 14-15 ft flat bottom for a month or so and just found one.
It’s amazing how hard a dang Jon boat is to find.

Make sure the bottom that touches the water is at least 48 inches wide.
That will be stable.
In a boat 48 inches wide or wider you and your partner will be able to walk around and feel solid.

Aluminum or fiberglass? Just about any aluminum hull would work for what you want, add a 40 zuke or yammy if you’re 14-16’. 4-stroke if you’re using it to booze cruise so you can relax and hear yourself. That shouldn’t kill your wallet either. Or find an old whaler skiff, cool little tooling around boats.

I have a 12 ft Duracraft 1974, with a 05 Yamaha 8 hp. This probably what he is looking for.

I have a 1540 flat with a 23hp copperhead surface drive. I’ve used it to haul, myself, two buddies, a pirogue, decoys, and hunting gear before. It did it just fine, but two people and gear seems to be the best fit for what we do with it.
If I was you I’d go 16’ minimum and 48” or wider bottom. Will be a more stable platform and have a little extra interior room.

I just recently got a 1980s 14x40 welded jon for 400 bucks on the FB marketplace with papers. I had to message about 20 people asking if they'd sell just the boat before I got a bite.
How fast are you lookin' to go? I have an old 9.5 Johnson a podnuh gave me that I would put on a lil 14x36 rivet boat, would go about 15 MPH with two people. 14 ft boats are kind of an awkward size, too big to throw in the back of a truck and too small to haul much.

My first boat was a 14x36 welded aluminum hull that came with a 9.9HP Tohatsu. I then repowered with a 15HP Merc. If you aren't looking for a "fishing" boat, that size would be fine. Hell, we fished a good bit in it, but in the end, it wasnt quite big enough. I upgraded to a 16x48 welded aluminum with a Tohatsu 40HP. Its plenty of boat for where I fish.
If you are just looking to cruise around the bayou, 14x36 would be fine. 14x48 would be much more stable, though.

I've got basically this setup, but a Merc. I still use it occasionally. Me and my son + fishing gear can do right at 15mph. It's not much, but perfect for quick Marsh/river trips by the house.

Look at aluminum duck boats. I have a 15" Alweld duck boat with a 30 Tohatsu 4 stroke and love it. Great for cruising with two people. Open floor plan. Should be able to find a decent used deal - there aren't many electronics or finishes to mess up on those boats. Just a motor and metal.

Solo skiff, gheenoe… never mind didn’t see you wanted more room for others

Honest answer, that's perfect.
Just cruise and carry a sunshade.

I have a 14x36 rivet that needs new wood in the transom and maybe a little welding on the gussets if you want to put a motor bigger than a 10 on it. It's got papers, no trailer. It ain't worth enough for me to go through the trouble of listing it, I just want it out of my yard.
