Where to live in San Antonio

The OT's favorite wanker got a job offer in San Antonio so I'm headed out. The job is close to University Hospital. I hate commuting so I'd prefer to stay close to that area. Can't be worse than the westbank or much of Nola, right?

Oh wait, no commute?
The medical district has lots of apartments and condos nearby, so one of them?

Plenty of burbs with cookie cutter homes to choose from. You won’t have to worry about getting shanked.

Dude literally said 'in that area' and every comment was like 50 miles away.

The northwest side of SA (where Univ Hospital is) used not be too bad
Could you ask your future employer for suggestions?

From the med center head west on I-10 to past 1604. Look for a place out that way all the way to Boerne.
The med center area isn't bad at all if your wanting to rent an apartment and stay real close to University.
The best places to buy a house in San Antonio are Alamo Heights, 1604 area out west of town, or Stone Oak area off of 1604 in North San Antonio. But all those options involve a commute.
Honestly anywhere between the loops (410 and 1604) and out west is decent. You don't want to be inside 410 unless its Alamo Heights.
Get ready to find out how much loops benefit a city. San Antonio traffic is nothing compared to Baton Rouge.

Boerne isn’t too far away and is where I would live if I had to relocate there. Helotes is nice too. Shivano Park wouldn’t be my first choice but it would be close and can be nice. If you’re going for School districts, Boerne or Alamo Heights are pretty desirable compared to Northside or Northeast ISD.
My company is there out on Stone Oak and it’s a nice area but I wouldn’t want that commute. But SA traffic is pretty light compared to Austin or Houston... at least on 1604. I avoid 410 as much as possible.
ETA: I don’t live in SA, but my headquarters are there so I spend probably 2-3 weeks there a year and have friends and coworkers there.

I live in Bulverde up 281. It's got a small town feel and it is only 8 miles to 1604. It's quiet, too.
