Its scary when you get that call. My heart stopped when the SNF called and gave me the news my 85 year old mother with COPD was diagnosed in April of 2020. I am hoping and praying she has a easy go of it.

I know it's probably a 2.5 or three hour drive for you and your mom but you can get monoclonal antibodies here : Doctors Urgent Care in Slidell

My personal observation based on limited experience- if someone is seeing a doctor that is part of a large clinic the doctor may not prescribe some of the therapeutics mentioned.
I have a couple rural doctors who are not beholden to the corporate medical system on standby.

I just dont understand this sentiment. You still got the cough and lost your taste. You didnt die, or I assume go to the hospital. But everyone on the planet has said Delta is way more contagious, but less severe or deadly. So how would anyone know if the vaccine did its job?
Your case is exactly what would have happened to the overwhelmingly majority of the unvaxed with Delta, sick but not dead.

My 92 year old grandma got it last year. She's in a nursing home and doesn't know who anyone is due to dementia, but only had mild symptoms with covid.

Fairly easy. We know the % of vaccinated vs unvaccinated in the hospitals, icu, and deaths.
