About 20 years after Roe v Wade, murder and other violent crimes started a steady and continual decline. Is it a coincidence or what else explains this?

Where do you live, that there has been a dramatic drop in crime?

Man you love these straw man threads don't you? Your first got whacked, going for a double play?

Why are you being so racist? The vast majority of aborted babies (per planned parenthood's original mission) are blacks. Are you saying that blacks are more violent?

Law changes in the 80s to put drug dealers and repeat offenders behind bars likely had a larger impact on that.

Roe was still about 16 years before NYC hit rock bottom and Bernie Goetz plugged some gang kids intending to rob him on the El train.

Because aborted babies would have been criminals? Because this board is racist?

No

Although congrats. You've read Dubner and Levitt and brought it here about a decade late.

It's still not as low as it was in the 40s. Ask yourself why did it increase, not why is it half way lower.

3 Strikes laws are the biggest factor in the decline in violent crime. More violent criminals are in prison, committing their violent crimes on other inmates

1973 also saw the birth of the DEA, given the link to drugs and violent crime, perhaps the war on drugs did it?

Nope, it's climate change.

If your deduction is that blacks have abortions at a much higher rate than whites; and blacks commit much higher rates of murder than whites, then your point is logical.

However, the logical extension is that blacks should be sterilized. And abortion can still be banned with murder rates plummeting. But do you really want to go there?

It's likely one piece of a very complicated pie. I think lead is a big piece also. And the internet.

Are you reading Freakonomics, baw? That book by Gladwell has a chapter on it.

I think it was coincidence, not causation. And crime is up in recent years, was abortion down 20 years ago?

Yes the expansion of gun rights for law abiding citizens and the movement toward self defense.

If a sick society, culcha etc needs abortion to maintain its safety, it deserves to die.

Just my opinion.
