THIS. Its no more than this. Sucks for him and he'll lose his job because of it. Hire Kiffin.

This is assuming anyone “better” than Orgeron, actually wants to work under him. That’s a big assumption.

his whole thing when he was campaigning for the job was that he would hire "the best coordinators and assistant coaches."

and no way in hell he would lie to get a job he wasn’t qualified for

I don’t think it’s won’t. I think it may be that he can’t at this point.

This is probably more of the case, instead of, as the OP put it, Ed not wanting to hire someone better.

Freeman for example- pretty hot name, might be in line for a P5 HC job soon. Choice- go to LSU, probably improve his stock more, prop Ed up in the process. Or go to Notre Dame, probably improve his stock more, and get some insight from Kelly that he can use later.

Plus, there's the past public feuds with coordinators, and the meddling. Fought with both Canada and Pelini in the press, and forced them to change their schemes, without really having the experience or expertise to offer some detailed help.

I think it's done. Stars have to collide to get O another season. He has to win 7 games and Woodward has to strike out behind the scenes.

Woodward has a history of landing big name hires, but he usually doesn't have to live with them long. It will be interesting to see what he will do now that he's home.

No idea why people think so much of Woodward. He let coach O hire his own kids as shadow staff. He gave this man 8 million a year.

But he can RUN shirtless in the street, I guess that’s running, looks more like me when I got to take a dump and I’m touching cotton.

I bet Freeman's glad he dodged that O bullet.

It appears Orgeron is the lucky one.

Freeman's defense gave up 38 pts to Florida State.
Next game Florida State is beaten by Jacksonville State. 7-6.

Then he gives up 39 to Toledo.

Yeah, Brady stealing the spotlight, and now getting credit, and I mean most all the credit fir the 2019 Offense, feeds this probably accurate speculation..

This isn't true. He tried everything to keep brady. Brady was getting all the credit back then.
