That sounds like confirmation by the attorney of a positive ID.
It's not the first one. They issued a statement the day the body was found and her father posted something.

Before I read the 35 pages I’ve missed since this am, is it worth it? New info or just rehashing what we’ve already known?

And let me guess, 2 weeks for results.

I mean she could have been killed in Utah or elsewhere and dumped on Fed property.

There was another one with a guy from Mandeville that had moved to Dallas after college. He was shot through the wall in his apartment and his parents got a notification through an app that his heart had stopped beating. What a terrible way to find out your kid passed. There's no good way but to just check your phone and see that from an app notification would be awful.
Do all smart watches monitor your heart rate? I have a Garmin and it does, but I dont' know about Apple watches which is what GP seemed to wear.

Didn't they go pick up the car he left in later on the same day he left?

True. But those statements could also have been based only on the reports of it likely being her, which could have been based on ID of a variety of things...clothes she was wearing, jewelry, etc.
Today's statement about Gabby coming home...issued on the day of the autopsy...seems to me to indicate that they have more a more concrete ID...possibly DNA.

This begs so many more question from me. How did they know where to go pick up the car? If because they spoke to him, the feds should have record of that call and could trace whatever phone he now has. Why did they go get the car? How was Brian supposed to get home without it? Does this imply he had no intentions of coming back home? Meaning the parents would know this, and are complicit in some way. I'd love to know the answers to these questions.

That answers the questions.

The M.E. said 2 weeks for results, then quickly opened a back door saying it could be much longer to totally finish.

"The family of Brian Laundrie — who vanished as authorities hunted for his girlfriend, Gabby Petito — found a note left on his car in Florida, their attorney told The Post on Monday.
Police left the notice on Laundrie’s Mustang, which his family found Wednesday parked near the Carlton Reserve in Sarasota County, according to attorney Steven Bertolino.
The note had asked for the car to be removed — but the family left the vehicle there until Thursday, hoping he’d return to it, Bertolino said."

I think you're overthinking this. The other statements were all about grieving. There was nothing about asking for privacy as they awaited a determination. They knew it was her based on what the FBI told them. There was obviously enough found to determine it was her unofficially. The family hasn't questioned that like folks on this board have.
DNA wouldn't be back today. FBI said they might have results from tests/the autopsy in 2 weeks.

Wyoming witness describes seeing white van, strange behavior in Grand Teton National Park
Jessica Schultz, a graphic designer and traveler, tells the San Francisco Chronicle that she contacted the FBI following an encounter in late August with a white van in the area where the body believed to be Gabby Petito’s was found Sunday.
Schultz says the van was traveling slowly down a one-lane road near Spread Creek and that she was forced to go off-road to get around it. When she passed, she says she looked at the van and saw a white male driving it by himself – which she now believes was Brian Laundrie.
“I’m pretty sure he got out of the van to like look around or something,” Schultz said.
The next two days, the van remained in the same area but no one could be seen around it, Schultz added.
On Sunday, before the human remains were found in the vicinity, an FBI agent told Schultz that “I’ve talked to hundreds of people, but you guys are the ones that really tipped us off to the right place, so thank you,’” she recalled.

So this is why the police are searching the preserve? I mean shite $10 and a taxi call and his arse could be 10 miles away catching a $50 cash bus ticket to half the state.
I'm assuming the police have tracks or something else they are following, but given 25,000 acres is big its not THAT big.

the reporter for newsnation that has been on the scene at the parents' house says they have video that shows the mustang there on wednesday morning when they arrived. he's made that statement more than once, so unless he's completely mistaken idk if i believe the parents' timeline.

One of the officers said that 75% of the search area is under water. Not a good chance of finding anything. The high water will hinder the dogs also.

Cant remember the new station, but I saw a report that contradicted this. It says there is confirmation from eye witnesses staked out at the Laundrie home that the Mustang was returned to the home on Wednesday.
Hard to believe anything from that family at this point
