Yeah, forget focusing on the very few things we know to be factual. Let's keep arguing over opinions with zero facts backing them up, that will definitely get us somewhere.

Has there even been a missing person report filed on Laundrie in Fla?
It has been reported the parents contacted police about BL missing last Friday. I assume it’s an official missing persons case, but not sure.

I'm sure they called the police while they were tied to the same chair as Nick Cage's dad in National Treasure.

The likelihood of there being a court case is slim. He will almost certainly either be dead or plea bargain or out right confess.

I dunno. You think he'd plea? If the feds were going for the death penalty?

With the state of the modern-day F B I I think I would take my chances with the likelihood of them royally fricking something up that allows me to walk.

Has anyone discussed why the parents decided to report him missing vs just letting him hang in the woods? Are they trying to cover themselves in a lawsuit and make it look like they were trying to help? By doing so they gave the FBI access to a ton of info of his and made it easier to track this guy.

Gabby Petito family lawyer releases statement thanking media

"I want to personally thank the press and news media for giving the Petito and Schmidt family time to grieve.

We will be making a statement when Gabby is home. I will contactyou to arrange a time and location," attorney Richard Benson Stafford said in the statement.

There's always the possibility that they were legitimately concerned for the well-being of their son.

That sounds like confirmation by the attorney of a positive ID.

Or they're going to try to hide behind "we thought that we had to wait 72 hours to report him missing".

Before I read the 35 pages I’ve missed since this am, is it worth it? New info or just rehashing what we’ve already known?

in order of what I think is most likely:

He’s dead
He will confess when caught
He will plead out
He will take it to trial

If the Feds won’t take the death penalty off the table, then it’s tough to plead. There is still plenty of room for manslaughter, etc depending on what the evidence ultimately reveals.

I wouldn't do it. I had about 25 pages to catch up on when I got here. It was brutal.

My guess is that they were unable to reach him and after a few days got scared about his well being. That’s pure speculation.

I agree. If he were alive, it's hard to imagine someone not noticing him, by now.
