Sure it is when most of it is submerged currently.
They had two interviews with people who live adjacent to the park and they both said "good luck getting in there with an ATV or a bike" because it's under water.

I think you're overthinking this. The other statements were all about grieving. There was nothing about asking for privacy as they awaited a determination. They knew it was her based on what the FBI told them. There was obviously enough found to determine it was her unofficially. The family hasn't questioned that like folks on this board have.
I've never questioned what they knew or when they knew it. I'm just saying that to me, the attorney's statement about her coming home indicates official notification of a positive ID. Almost all of us seem to understand that from a legal standpoint...and we are talking about a statement from the attorney here...there's a big difference between an unofficial determination and a positive ID.

DNA wouldn't be back today. FBI said they might have results from tests/the autopsy in 2 weeks.
DNA test =/= autopsy. DNA test results can be had in a couple of days, and you can bet that this one was expedited. The body was found two days ago. They absolutely could have DNA results today. Getting a sample from the corpse was probably one of the first things investigators did.

So this is why the police are searching the preserve? I mean shite $10 and a taxi call and his arse could be 10 miles away catching a $50 cash bus ticket to half the state.
He could easily be halfway acorss the country at this point. Throw on a hat and a mask and pay cash and no one would recognize him. I've never ridden a greyhound or anything like that but do they make you provide ID and stuff even if you pay in cash right before a bus is about to be heading out?

I am pretty sure all Apple watches monitor HR
If it is an Apple watch, in this case, the feds will ask Apple for the information but the Apple watch needed to be charged daily-ish as compared to other fitness watches that can go much longer on a charging.

lets call upon the cajun navy for assistance.

Damn, I didn't even think of this. Now is an easy time to go wherever you want and not be recognized.

I think that if you're willing to accept BL's family timeline at face value and he went missing on Tuesday of last week, it's possible that he caught a flight.
Since he is not a suspect with a warrant, I'm guessing bank records aren't being traced? Could've missed this along the way, but right now he could be using traditional means of payment to some degree.

That's assuming he is dead.
If he is alive, then that reduces the potential search areas greatly. Chances are he isn't camping out over water or swamp. Again, nothing I've seen from this guy shows he is a serious camper. He only did van life, that's not backpacking life. Its a big difference. Furthermore what would be his long term plan? Hiding out 5 miles from his house in the woods has a limited time span.
I may be wrong. But, it would be a hell of a place to throw off police too.
I've said this again and I haven't seen any reason to think differently but I'm certainly open to it: I'd wager that if he was suicidal he wouldn't go off into the woods this long after her death and do it. He'd likely either pop pills at home in his bed or somewhere more comfortable.
Very few people walk off into the woods to do it.

Hard to believe anything from that family at this point
I try to take solace in the fact that their lies and silence have put them in a world of hurt right now. Zero empathy for them or their son.

Those baws would've solved this case and had him locked up 10 days ago

Probably just planted the car there and got a ride out to make it appear that that's where he was headed. Canvassing that area would take days and tons of help.

I agree with you - I don't think he would try to hide HIS body if he were suicidal.
It's certainly possible that the entire reserve story was being used to throw search parties off.

I read that he was a hiker and he hiked that area before. I have a feeling that when he first didn't come back that day, the parents assumed he was still hiking and hanging out in the reserve.
Found the article. Here's a quote:
quote:
Laundrie, a skilled outdoorsman, could be out there for “months,” Taylor said. “I don’t know how frequently if he would come out here and do day-long hikes or whatever, you could be out here for months if you wanted,” Taylor said.

That's a good point, but how do they obtain flight records at this junction if there's no warrant?
ETA - I legitimately don't know the mechanics behind this stuff, so someone more qualified should enlighten me.

Here's my newest thought on the timeline:
Sometime around the 25th GP and BL get in a big domestic fight. He hits her and either knocks her out or kills her. He panics, grabs his stuff, and walks away. Thought process is that he will claim he was off hiking as an alibi.
He walks away for a couple days, meets tiktok girl, etc. Catches a ride by and realizes there's no police. Scene is clear, finds her where he left. Calls his parents, they tell him to come home and figure it out.
He is sitting at home and can't stand it. Decides to run.

That would make some sense if you are going to be out camping for a few days here and there that you would want a way to recharge phones and smartwatches without using your vehicle battery.

This forced Schultz to drive off the road a bit to get around — and as she passed, she looked over and saw that the van’s driver was alone — a “generic” young white guy.
It's hilarious how everybody seems to describe him this way.
