NSFW Language.
A 20 minute video of an ole Baw taking footage of Hurricane Ida in Chauvin. Go to 13:30 and he catches a house being blown off the pilons.
Prayers to all who lost their homes/way of life.

His preface about not knowing Ida would be this strong really shows you how smart some of these people are that chose to stay.

My buddy lives a few houses before Boudreaux Canal, he shagged arse about 4 hours before landfall. He stayed for every other storm since he was born and said this was the worst one ever. They just got water service Saturday. My cousin is PAC still doesnt have water.

If it wasn’t for here I wouldn’t have necessarily known. Weather on tv was saying 2 and those in the knkw here were saying faulty planes and sharing their knowledge and expectations.
Many here evacuated due to them sharing info.

The transmission poles snapped at the base in Chauvin. Steel poles rated for 150mph. I don’t know what the hell was in that storm but that shite was insane.

Any idea how much further south has water now? The camp is down by 56/57 intersection. TIA

Damn. That footage is unreal. At one point, it was almost sheet white with rain. Absolutely terrifying.

Who’s crazier, this guy in Chauvin, or the old timer who stayed at his place on Carr Drive in Slidell during Katrina…?
