I'll admit this is the first time I had to use the new style cans but: Who in the Hell designed these things?

Has to be someone in Washington who has never had to use one in their lives as they are almost impossible to use to fill up a vehicle.

Press the green button while holding a 5 gallon can in place where gas comes out at a trickle. Then you can't get all the gas out the can as it can't be tilted enough and it leaks all over the place from where the pour nozzle screws into the can. (The whole reason it was "Designed")

Everone should invest in a funnel to keep with them at all times so you can just take the damn top off an pour or a battery gas siphon would be even better.

yep, this is what we ended up doing. gas cans don't need to be that complicated. I'd like to shove this thing up it's inventor's arse.

Been using a funnel to fill up the generator. These things are the worst.

I just take that stupid spout off and pour directly in the funnel. You still do spill a little bit but much easier than dealing with the "safe" spout.

New Gas Cans

I have never leaked more gas and had more spills and shite than with these type cans. Working on replacing all the spouts with the old school type you can get at hardware store.

I've been using an empty gallon jug as a funnel. Cut off the flat bottom and it gives you a nice catch range for spillage.

You're welcome. This is the only one I've used that's worth a damn and the only one I'll ever use.

And to think that’s why those spouts were legislated into existence.

Get a plastic bottle, 20 Oz or bigger works. Avoid the wide caps because they are often bigger than the tank hole

Cut the bottom of bottle off. Unscrew shitty spout off gas can.

Throw it as far as you can. It’s garbage and made of pure hate

Use the open gas can and the makeshift funnel to fill tank.

Then go find the spout you threw because I kind of forgot that you need to close the gas can still

Harbor Freight sells them too. I replaced mine as soon as I bought it.

I bought some with this style, and they aren't that bad. The green button ones are BS.

I bought a battery operated fuel pump from HF, so I can just pop off that stupid top and automatically pump directly.

My gas cans from Katrina are starting to crack. Really considering getting one of those 15+ gallon pump ones because those safe spouts are Hella stupid
