You’re misremembering because it did happen. Any out of state adjuster was barred from entering your home for Laura unless he/she quarantined for 14 days after entering the state per Honor Code. Your adjuster might have been a La resident but for the majority of us they were from out of town and since none of the motels/hotels were livable none could quarantine.

SF sent you a letter that you probably threw in the pile we all have. The letter informed you that your wind deductible would increase to 5% IF you didn’t contact SF and sign to keep it the previous deductible.
It was Legal but pretty damn shady since SF knew that most wouldn’t even read their letter much less call or sign to keep a lower deductible.
5% wind deductible almost never works out for the insured premium wise, I calculated my premium at 3% vs 5% and it took 14 years to break even with 5%.
They all suck but some suck less.

Plenty brand new genracs shite the bed in LC after Laura. Our office had genrac and it came unwound between 2:30 and 4:00 when I went back to check. Service was non existent and most won’t touch them. It’s a recurrent theme with that brand, get a Cummins and cry ?? once.
