It’s only played in Ireland. I think if they wore pads, and could then hit harder, it would be the greatest sport. I like the lawlessness.

Not sure why they need to hit harder with pads on. It's already pretty brutal.

Hurling is popular at lots of sporting events.

ETA: I can understand the play-by-play guy, but need closed captioning with the color guy.

St Louis used (might still) to have a hurling league that played at the big city park on Sunday mornings that my buddy played in. We would all go down with a cooler to watch and get shite-faced while he played at sunrise.

It was always a good time.

Not familiar with that game. Was it ever called anything else?

That’s what I’m saying. It’s captivating.

With a few tweaks, seems like it could be popular here.

Sorry, but that is just a mash up of way too many sports.

Kinda unbelievable how excited those fans are over this pre-civilization type of circus game…

I can't imagine why a sport whose name is also a synonym for puking isn't more popular.

Pretty sure I've seen an Irish game on that same field setup that was mash up of soccer and rugby.

So it's like soccer combined with rugby combined with football combined with lacrosse with a little bit of baseball mixed in.

Fantastic.

I mean from what I saw... it was insanely fast paced, extremely physical, and with minimal referee interference. A lot easier to watch than the product the NFL sells nowadays.

Also a basketball aspect in that they have to dribble off the stick when running with the ball. It’s a combo of everything.
