5700watt generator. Need to do load of clothes.
I figure it would work if i run it by itself.

Was told that the dryer and AC pull the biggest load. May want to turn off everything else. I bought a generator (whole home) that was bigger than needed to accommodate.

You cant go 2 days without washing clothes?

It might work. What are the starting watts? Definitely turn everything off before trying.

Can you just hang them up?

There is a tag on the dryer that has the rated wattage and amp draw. Probably on the back.
Electric dryers draw a lot of power. They are usually on their own 30 amp circuit. Most draw anywhere from 22 amps to 24 amps on average.
You only have 26 amps to play with from your genset.
Another great reason to have a gas dryer. They are more efficient to boot.

I dried all my shite outside in this blistering heat

That’s pretty much maximizing that generator out. Like others have said I would use low heat

This is why you wash all your clothes for hurricane prep.

I have a 12.5kw generator and I can run the dryer on high heat, but even then, the generator will let you know it’s there.

Seems unwise. It’s recommended not to run your dryer even with the size of whole home units most people install.

Doesn’t seem worth maxing out your generator and adding heat to your house just to dry clothes that can be dried outside in the sun

That is a huge waste of resources and could be dangerous. Just hang them out to dry.

I would not recommend using the dryer here but hopefully he takes video if he tries it.
