My 75 yr Mom is in Ponchatoula and haven’t heard from her since 9:30 last night. She was stressing. Tried getting her to come up to north Tx with me last week but nope.
It’s hard not hearing from her. Anything in that area?

updates on the Bedico Creek area

Cousin lives in the back and he said other than fences down it looks good. One house had a pine on it but not through it.

Edit. Well that was just in his part of the hood. Water is high in the middle but he said passable with a truck.....maybe

If you flooded for the rain storm last year you are flooded now. Waters are higher than that. Impassable getting to front of neighborhood

Same issue. My in-laws are in the newer subdivision right across from that new Bedico Supermarket/gas station near the parish line by the water tower. Have not heard from them since about 11 last night.

Anyone know how that neighborhood is doing? It’s called Bedico Trace. Was developed about 10-15 years ago.

Their last text was at 11pm. They said the wind was very bad and that their roof was leaking. They were not flooded at the time.

Greenleaves update: much of subdivision apparently not that bad. A decent amount of trees down but not catastrophic. A neighbor was able to show me some video over facetime. My house caught a big pine through the roof, which really sucks but at least I was able to get the claims process started.

Hoping to get back in Wednesday to access in person.

Does anyone live in or near the Tchefuncte Parc subdivision in Madisonville (off Brewster)? Have family that live there, but haven’t heard anything from them since 10 PM last night.

Slidell Lakefront: My mom’s generator is running but she lost connection to the security cameras which uses Charter internet. We’re assuming no power or internet. No word from neighbors.

Flooding may become an issue in the next day or two as Ida goes north and dumps more rain. Bedico Creek was at 6ft during the flash flooding last year. It is at 8.42ft right now
NOAA Bedico Creek

Keep an eye on the Tangipahoa as well. If the prediction goes above 24ft there will be parts of 190 and 22 under water

Getting reports from family in downtown Covington: a lot of trees down and water lines busted, obviously no power and limited cell service. Many ppl have trees on or through their house.

Slidell: The surge switchback wasn’t too bad for Eden Isles. Some trees down, roof damage is wide spread. Apparently, it’s similar to Gustav.
