I know this is a small issue right now but it's going to be interesting to see if we get some complaints after the storm to local natural gas distribution companies. More and more people have installed whole house generators on the natural gas system If they all come online at the same time the local distribution company may not have enough capacity to meet demand.

If this becomes an issue the homes close to the meter station running into the neighborhood should have no problems receiving natural gas to their whole house generator. It's the homes at the end of the distribution system that will be starved for natural gas.

So looking at the GFS this morning, it backed off the doomcane scenario. It looks like the HWRF still shows one though.

just heard a second source reference Angola inmates being potentially bussed in the upcoming hours to the Thomas Assembly in Ruston.

There are over 5K inmates at Angola. You’re talking about the most dangerous people imaginable being evacuated. The DOC doesn’t have the manpower to do it.

Prepare for a Cat 4. That’s probably what we’re going to get.

I’ve already seen convoys of power trucks headed south.

They'll stage in places like Tuscaloosa.

Once, I noticed dozens of bucket trucks all in Walmarts parking lot on Skyland Blvd. during a gulf hurricane event.

Wind fields arent nearly as big either. But wont be sure til tomorrow AM

Wait until it strengthens. You can see the cold tops really expanding at the end of the IR loop.

Yeah, the model trend this morning is promising, but we’re getting into the now-casting stage here pretty soon. While I’d happily take 120mph over 140mph, it’s starting to really get its act together (take a shot).

I’m not too concerned about flooding it’s the wind and tornadoes leveling shite that scares me

Most people around here (Denham/Walker) aren’t worried about sustained winds strong enough to level anything. Tornadoes are hard to predict.

Like they always say. Prepare for Cat 4. Hope for sex with your wife on a day other than once a year on your birthday.

It’s comical watching these weather people. Dude just said nothing has changed and “expect gusts of up to 100 mph at landfall” when they had been saying 140 mph yesterday. Not scoffing at 100 mph but that’s a significant difference from 140.

sat through 110+ mph winds for zeta last year in plaquemines parish.... don’t want to do that anymore

My parents were close to the MS gulf coast (8 miles inland) for Katrina. They said it sounded like a jet engine over the house for 6 hours.

That’s called a word of knowledge. Look it up in the Bible. It’s given to us by God through the Holy Spirit. The church is exercising in this gift more and more now it is wonderful.
