Who's sticking it out in North Houma? No trees, but a fence to worry about.

If your fence is screwed take out 4-5 boards every 8 ft or so. Might save it

My only concern is trees, not as much concerned about flooding

If any are within striking distance of the house I would be concerned. If not and you got A/C you good:

Does that parking lot by Walgreens and Milk Bar flood?

Not usually, but Maple Street does if two people spit on the street at the same time.

I want everyone to note how edgy the Lake Charles people are after they got this kind of strike last year. I havent known Slow to be overdramatic.

So consider that if youre on the fence about leaving.

im an in same boat as SFP, Prom, Stout etc. Im in LC on pins and needles still.

if you went through laura and came back the next day ( I was back within hours of the storm passing) then you would not want to stay. I had a whole home generator, internet that worked and my wife and kids were in dallas for 2 weeks after.

now i was out tarping roofs and helping others but it pretty much sucked. I know i am pretty much stuck in LC and have been here my whole life other than a few years at lsu and in the army and Im telling you....if we get slammed like laura again anytime soon....I would want to leave if at all possible.

Any other NOLA'ers riding it out?

After seeing a lot of people stay I wonder if Zeta lulled us into safety.

The vibe around here is super weird. People that are far less prepared than me are totally cool with it.

Pretty significant probability that no person currently in MC has experienced a storm this strong before.

When are we looking at landfall…still Sunday night/Monday morning? I’m in sulphur and a little too optimistic we will be fine after the shite show last year. About to go get drink too many beers in Toledo. But close enough to get back and prepare last minute if necessary

It’s a carport with a garage door.
I didn't know there was a name for this. I've been considering doing this, because my carport opens out to my pool. Wouldn't want to close that side in. Never considered the weather implications of that though

Yeah exactly why I said I wasn't talking about you earlier (after you listed your preparedness). NO WAY 90% of those staying are anywhere close to that level.

It has "good" elevation, but pretty much all of the roads in the neighborhood are being re-done so drainage is seemingly non-existent at the moment...

Areas that really didn't flood much are flooding once a week this summer
