Unfortunately there are many reports of building collapses in the epicentral region of M7.2 #earthquake in #Haiti notably in Les Anglais, Aquinoise, Jérémie, les Cayes. Our thoughts are with you

@CPPGeophysics

Today's M7.2 earthquake in Haiti was located less than 100 km to the West of the devastating M7.0 event in 2010.

Yeah considering likely how poor the buildings were constructed and being on an island, not too bad from those pics

This morning’s 7.2-magnitude #earthquake in Haiti could be “felt” in Nebraska and Indiana. Here’s seismographs from Belgrade, NE and Bloomington, IN.

Same. I wonder if they mandated stricter building codes there after the last one.

Even if they did, I don't know how a country that poor and unstable would even enforce such code standards. I'm sure most of that relief money went into the personal accounts of the top brass on the island...

Perfect time for The Clinton Foundation, Sean Penn, and Wyclef to go back and rob more donations from Haiti.
