Best thing to do is hide some cameras facing the property line, his blind/feeders, and even where you suspect he'll shoot the deer on yours. If his story doesn't match up, or anything happen to the cameras, then call the Wildlife And Fisheries.

I hunted a lease in Cotulla Texas years ago . Dude had about 100 acres across the line at a fence. his feeder was at the fence. The bottom of one leg was under the fence. His stand was 150 yards away facing the fence and feeder.
We dumped a lot of deer and pig carcasses there until he moved it.
Another guy had the same thing with a guy that owned 80 acres in the middle of his property. He had legal access to the 80. my friend tried to talk to him about buck management but he and his family just shot the hell out of it. My friend high fenced him in .
Don’t know how that turned out. Hope no injuries or fatalities.

Be a good neighbor, but put up a camera to confirm hes not shooting on your property......he has obviously done that in the past. Do tell him its all good, but that he shouldnt be shooting into your land.

Depending on what parish you in there are laws about how close to a property line you can put up a stand or blind.

West Feliciana

quote:

It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to assume a stationary hunting position or place a permanent or mobile hunting stand or any type of shooting location or position, whether fixed, portable or mobile, for purposes of the shooting or hunting of deer or turkey, any closer than 50 yards to the boundary of adjoining property or any closer than 100 yards to any residence or inhabited dwelling situated on adjoining property; provided, however, that under no circumstances shall the distance be any less than 50 yards from the adjoining property line.

West Feliciana is 50 yards
but
East Feliciana is 25 yards if I am not mistaken.

What State? In Mississippi feeders have to be a minimum of 300 feet from property lines. Blinds can be anywhere on the property.

install barbed to a height he can't easily cross, and put spacers in each section so he can't spread it to pass thru. Post signs facing his side of the line just as a reminder.

I don't think there's anything you can really do to prevent it beyond being a good neighbor. These type of things often end with a dog getting shot, etc. People get stupid.

But if you don't have a fence, that's a good place to start.

How much did China pay to buy you 150 acres?

tell him that you will allow him access for retrieval of wounded animals (by escort only). IF he agrees that neither of you will put a permanent stand (or feeder) within 50 yds of your and his shared boundary. his request might just get him off your line. And, if he only has 10 acres, it probably wouldn’t hinder you too much to stay 50 yds from only him

This is a strange post coming from you considering your post history on the PT board. You are all for the liberal socialism of banning tariffs and supporting China and much of the current administration's policies, yet, when it comes to YOUR land and property, you seem to sing a different song. We get it. Rules for thee, but not for me.

Check and see what the parish ordinance is on that. Locally we have an ordinance that a person must be 50 yards from the property line and if the property line is a creek, it has to be 100 yards from center line of the creek.

This was established to prevent people from being too tempted to shoot across the line. You can shoot anything on your side or put your feeder anywhere, just can’t have a stationary hunting position within that distance

My Arkansas club has 30+ stands on 1000 acres and 10 of them are on property lines. Several of our neighbors have stands just over the line. It has never caused a problem; only a couple retrevals onto neighboring properties over the past decade.

Property lines make good spots because there are usually trails or firebreaks. Like another poster said, face it so you are shooting down the line or back onto your property.

It shouldn't be that big of a deal.

Put up a fence. Some T-post with about 5 strands of barb wire about chest high. Then put up some game cams and if he crosses the fence onto your property contact the local authorities and the green jeans

My dad caught our neighbor with a climbing stand right across our property line one time. We liberated his trail cam and feeder.

Another time we found where he had put nails into a tree and built a stand in the fork of the tree. My dad cut the tree down and liberated his feeder and trail cam.

The third time my dad found someone hunting on our property he destroyed the ground blind. This was before feeders or game cams so we also pissed in the corn pile.

In north LA we don’t take kindly to folks hunting or trespassing on our property without permission. Now my dads 75 so if it’s in the field behind our house he takes care of it but if it’s down in the woods past the creek up to the pipeline he calls one of his nephews to come out and take care of it (they hunt our property whenever I’m not up hunting). We share stands and food plots.

I’ve killed a nice 8 point and my family has killed several 6-8 point bucks.

This is the problem with the 50 acre tracts in the hill country.

People try to cheat the cost of a real ranch and end up high fenced in.

If the trajectory of your blind and feed set up puts the bullets backstop off the property, it is illegal. To retrieve a wounded animal you need landowner permission.

What happens if you shoot a deer and it runs on to his 10 acres?

I would put up multiple cameras pointed directly as the blind.

Then I would put up walls or piles of limbs in any shooting lanes.

Edit: Now that I see who the OP is, I hope he wears a Trump mask and shoots deer on your side of the line.
