So when does LSU announce they are going remote this year?

On campus move-in day is like 2 weeks away. Anybody hearing any noises? And what do they do re: tuition/fees for those who have paid for dorm living if that happens?

That goes into the diversity fund.

Very soon I would imagine.

Honestly, there is almost no reason outside of labs and socialization for freshman to even be on campus.

Kids were remote last year and still lived in dorms

Exactly. No reason at all students should ever take part in traditional classroom learning while paying full tuition.

Idiot.

LSU did in person class last year through the spike in the winter that had over 2,000 plus hospitalizations with nobody on campus vaccinated

They aren’t going remote

Also, hospitalizations will be in the decline in 2 weeks when move in happens

That’s not what I said or implied.

I hope never. My kid moves in to the dorms in two weeks and she desperately wants to have classes in person.

Oh look another thread where someone is begging for closures and restrictions so they can bitch about it

Only thing worse are the slack jawed idiots hoping the vaccines fail

I’m guessing that they are watching the covid numbers like a hawk in hopes that some sort of downturn becomes evident.

As it stands, I can’t see any way that they can let thousands of kids rush onto campus under the current conditions.
I expect that if the numbers keep rising or even level off, they will push move in back several weeks

Can we stop sacrificing kids who handle covid just fine? They’ve paid the price already. Enough.

They had thousands of kids on campus in winter 2020 when there were more deaths and more hospitalizations

Seriously, did y’all forget 2020 existed?

This is not 100% correct. My kid was remote both semesters. Took all of his classes from his dorm room.

Exactly.
God forbid kids get to enjoy the college experience when only 99.9999999% of them would survive Covid.

Daughter starts junior year this semester (carried 30hrs from HS...so her 2nd year) and has been on campus total of 5 times for class.

I was walking with her to bookstore in Spring, and on the way she wanted to make wrong turn. Did not know where it was.

Has been to 1 baseball game and nothing else.

So hoping "normal" year ahead!

My nephew paid for the dorms, but lived in Belle Chasse last year.
