Louisiana is stopping federal pandemic unemployment aid for its residents Saturday, ending the benefits for about 200,000 people and cutting the payments to thousands more.

Louisiana residents will no longer receive an extra $300 a week on top of the state’s maximum $247 benefit. The state will also stop participating in the federal program giving unemployment money to self-employed workers and gig workers who are ineligible for state benefits. And it’s ending federal assistance that allowed people to get jobless benefits past a 26-week state cap.

Good. Maybe restaurants and other businesses can finally get back to fully staffed. These people need to get off their lazy asses, stop living off the guberment handouts and go back to work!!!

Local ice cream shop has had to change their hours several times in the last couple of weeks because they can’t get anyone to work

It’s sad people have no sense of pride anymore

I’d imagine these people are already figured out how to get other additional government handouts anyway, so staying under the threshold is what’s important.

The effects of all this really hit home last week when I tried to call in a pizza order to Fleur de Lis for lunch and got their machine saying their temporary hours due to short staffing issues were now 4 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The day I can't get my Fleur de Lis pizza for lunch is the day some lazy MOFO's need to get their asses back to work!!!

Back after the city got its check from Biden, one of the city councilmen called a family member’s restaurant asking how much money they needed. He was quickly met with, “I don’t need money, I need staff” since they’ve been doing well over their 2019 numbers throughout the pandemic.

It is disgusting the amount of Americans who have no issue with taking welfare from the government. The ones who purposely will not get married so their baby mamas can get free shite. We are fricked as a country and it is because of our citizens.

Reality is gonna hit some freeloaders and libs right in the face. If you an adult over 25 and are settling for minimum wage that is your own fault. Do better.

One of my podnuhs has a sister in law that is an absolute piece of shite. She financed a new car based on how much she was making on the unemployment last year and now she is begging for money to try and cover the note.

Don't marry a girl with a poor family. You'll be taking care of all of em.
