'late '60's and early 70's big block.

'82 and later because front discs are interchangeable with late model factory 2 piston calipers, hubs and spindles, plus Gbody factory and performance parts are plentiful and affordable

67 north of dallas

I have almost pulled the trigger twice on an old nova from these people in sherman texas. They have some decent rides for fair price. Cars you will drive

My dad had a 72 that he built years ago, but he sold it. That sucker would push you back in the seat, but boy did it use gas. Had one of those floating needles, you stomped on it and that needle would drop.

Had a 400 big block.

For aesthetics, it's whatever floats your boat. For performance, 1970 is the pinnacle year for American engines. Compression and torque were the highest and it was the last year emissions restrictions weren't imposed.

Any SS 396 or SS 454 without emissions and low compression.

Back in high school I had a 75 el Camino. Beige with a dark brown vinyl top. Fan jet western aluminum rims, 60's on the back and 70s on the front. Air shocks on the back. 350 4 barrel carb. Jensen Triaxle 2's in boxes behind the seat and Pioneer twitters in the doors. Pioneer Supertuner II tape deck.

Had a lot of fun in that ride!

Mine had different rims and was a much lighter brown. The vinyl top was the same.

‘71 is the most popular due to having 2 SS models that year (329 and 454). I don’t think they made an SS in 68, GM added the 396 in 69.

Here’s my 69 I’m working on…

They’re all fantastic!

Each time I see one pass, I give it a proper salute and state, “Welcome to Caminoland.”

It’s like a religion.

the early ones were the best, the later models had that stupid 4 headlight squared off station wagon looking front ends on them

No such thing as 329. The 327 was discontinued before 68 I believe, at least for the ElCamino?
Either way, posi rear end wasn't enough to stop the massive wheelspin/burnout capabilities.

My dad had the 1978 GMC version: The Cabarello.
Cool name. His looked exactly like this, so it’s my favorite, bc it was my dad’s

Later, when they went to the 4 front headlights, they weren’t as attractive.

When I was about 6 years old, trick or treating and went under a carport to knock on the side door one of these was parked and I ran my forehead into the rear "wing". It required stitches and ruined that Halloween!
