In his appearance, Jake sheds a great deal of light on Beal’s situation in Washington and how a Ben Simmons-led offer from Philadelphia could appeal to the Wizards’ brass. At the end of the interview, as Jake alluded to some reporting on Simmons that he would publish on Sunday afternoon, he shared an exclusive and rather damning nugget about the icy current relationship between the Sixers and their embattled star.

"I’m not gonna write this in the story, but I’ll tell this to you guys and you guys can do what you want with it. They haven’t been able to really even get in touch with Ben since the season ended. Like, there was an intent to have a workout plan or whatever — like in any offseason. That’s always kind of been the case, that the Sixers haven’t been able to align with a development plan [for Ben] — that’s kind of what Yaron Weitzman wrote at Fox Sports in that big story. It just doesn’t sound like there’s ever been movement to come together on the same page to do that, and it hasn’t really worked this summer either. I think that’s not something that’s an encouraging sign for him being in Philadelphia in the future."

He’s been learning the art of shooting from Tibetan monks deep in the East Asian wilderness.

Simmons has never been serious about improving his game and it has showed in the biggest moments on the biggest stage. They should've traded him last offseason when his value was still high.

Simmons is the guy that was always bigger and faster than everyone else, so he never needed to work on his game to dominate. He doesn’t have the drive to overcome that. Some guys do, he doesn’t appear to.

They shouldn’t be surprised with Simmons ghosting them.

He does it in the 4th quarter most nights.

Using a high draft pick on a guard who can’t shoot was stupid, especially in today’s game.

He’s a flaky mf. You could see that when he was at LSU.

He’s a perfect example of the entitlement of modern NBA players.

Because he’s being paid $14 an hour by Home Depot, right?

When Simmons was at LSU, I went to watch the LSU vs Oklahoma game. Definitely an eye opener how he absolutely gave 0 shits. 1 touch in the final however many minutes while Buddy legit willed his team to a win

He was ROTY and 1st team all-nba defense. Up until the playoffs this year no one would claim it was a wasted pick.

Of course the team sources will deny it. Ruining that trade value

htran,

1 college game aside, I don’t think any sane person would take Buddy Hield over Ben Simmons.
