Holy shite at that shitshow.

Titties galore
Gropings and rapes
Riots
shite/mud pies
Heat strokes

What the hell is wrong with you GenX/early Millennials? I’m a late Millennial (‘89), and I’ve never ever wanted to act like those people at a concert or festival, ever.

Fred Durst isn’t to blame either. The place was a Warzone well before he took the stage.

The chemicals used in frosting tips leach into our brains and caused us to go crazy.

It was called Joey Fatone’s Disease and it killed 300,000 people.

(Edit: symptoms closely resemble Cargo Pants and Netted Shirts Disorder.)

That music was made for douchebags. I was 29 at the time and already a couple of years into feeling like popular music was really starting to suck arse.

This lineup epitomized it...rap, Moby, and other female artists included.

Well they got what they wanted. A true Woodstock re-creation with filthy conditions full of dirtbags and whores.

I just wish they were all near water and a Piranha situation arose...

Why anyone would pay to rub shoulders with pure body odor, be deprived of water and be unable to shite while listening to Limp Bizkit is beyond me.

I have no sympathy watching that doc. They bought their tickets, they knew what they were getting into, I say let 'em crash.

It's pretty much well known that sequels don't come close to the originals.

Woodstock in 69 can never be duplicated as a cultural/counter-cultural event. To try is a lesson in futility.

How about when they were retroactively trying to tell the small number of black concert goers to rethink being there, or trying to blame the crowd for saying N***A when DMX literally led them in a chant of it, or that chicks getting drunk and flashing their tits was the fault of young white males because of 1AM commercials for Girls Gone Wild. It was yet another propaganda piece under the guise of a music documentary

Wesley Morris of course is obsessing about race .

This shite gets nauseating.

I’m curious if this purple haired hippo talking about GGW is all about the power of feminism with onlyfans and allowing women to profit off their bodies from the same horny dudes she’s lambasting in this documentary

This whole thing was typical boomer narrative. The first Woodstock so much better. Blah blah blah. Woodstock sucks. Outdoor music festivals always sucked. Just as many girls got raped or groped in the 60s, they just accepted it. Then they raised those kids and tried to convince them disco was cool for the next forty years. Boomers worst generation and it’s not close.

They grew up hearing how wild the original one was and wanted to match it.

Watched it. My friends and I had tickets but ended up selling them for way more than we paid so didn’t go. We weren’t going to see Limp Bizkit or Fred Durst I think even by that time most people considered them a joke. Brought back memories of how awful Carson Daly was. The guy had a huge hand in destroying MTV. Have to laugh at the white rage angle that’s ridiculous. Also reminds me what awful people greedy and selfish Boomers are. They are absolutely going to suck this country dry until they are all dead.

That doc definitely gave me some nostalgia. I was 19 at the time, and a big fan of a lot of those bands. Say what you want about Limp Bizkit and Korn, but they put on some awesome live shows.

I left off watching this the other day when the reporter was crying about white kids singing DMX lyrics. Now I'm at the point where Moby is crying about white kids using Nu Metal for homophobia and misogyny, while completely ignoring the fact that rap is chock full of it. And ignoring his own sexually harassing behavior for that matter. This isn't a documentary, it's Wokestock '99.

I'm glad I read this before watching.

I'm out. I'd rather sit and watch the different bands sets from 99 on YouTube.

Where did they get these losers from to commentate on this? It’s so one sided. I bet Moby was so happy to get his “payback” for not having his name listed back in 99. What a loser.

Over the top with the white young hate. The blonde in the snake skin shirt was so negative, her pic is next to the definition of a liberal nut.

Just watched it as well. Here's a few thoughts:

1. This doc should have been only an hour long, but they really stuffed it with too much ancillary stuff. Like the Metallica Napster stuff. That went down in 2000, but they put it in as though it was the background for their set at Woodstock.

2. The nostalgic waxing for Nirvana was just straight up bizarre.

3. Moby is simultaneously in touch with a crowd and out of touch with reality.

4. The brown-nosing for cochellla was strange.

5. Applying 2021 sensibilities to 1999 = GREAT IDEA

Nu metal was bad. Added in rap culture and pop to rock and those didn’t mix well. Was a very sad time that’s led to easily the worst era in music in a very long time.

Oddly enough, The Ringer podcast “60 Songs That Defined The 90s” just did an episode on “Nookie,” and they are surprisingly more appreciative of the artistic merit (although still somewhat dismissive) of Limp Bizkit.
