The ACC would be huge winners if they could get Notre Dame and Penn State on board. Doubtful, but would solidify the ACC for a very long time

If PSU does go, then WVU has to be a lock as well. With those moves, you basically get all the best of the old Big East rivals, plus Penn State. That's a huge win for the ACC.
If they can lock up Notre Dame, that's a hell of a fun league in multiple sports and finally gives Clemson some better competition.
It also shows just how big of pussies the Big 10 is and further protects its bread winner Ohio State, who will likely have a bye every year in the playoff.

Wtf would even be the point of this shite? UVa competes well in the ACC, they’ve won national titles in 2 major sports, and fit in academically with Duke, UNC, etc.

To be fair the rumor of PSU’s unhappiness has been out there for a long time with the added rumor that the decision to add Maryland and Rutgers was partially to placate PSU and provide more natural geographic rivals.
Not saying this new rumor is true but the rumor of PSU unhappiness is not new.

Hard to imagine they’re unhappy enough to walk away from all that money. Doesn’t make sense.
Only way I could maybe see it is if Notre Dame is going too and they think that’ll bring the ACC near equal footing financially. But the ACC doesn’t get a new deal for like 15 years.

I doubt Virginia would leave even though the Big Ten might be interested. The GOR is one issue but there are also geography and culture differences.
ND, PSU, and WVU to the ACC world make it a much more compelling conference. The financial wheels would need a lot of grease though. Right now PSU share of Big Ten money is substantially more than anything from the ACC
