Seems like they’re in the news every week because of a death.

This is why we can't have nice things. Won't be long until they shut it down eventually I'm sure. Hopefully they let people weigh the risks themselves but if there's one thing I learned this year it's that the government can't help themselves and people somehow support it.

Perhaps they should cover the River too.
People die on roads all the time. Should we shut those down?
If you go on the River, especially at high water times, you assume the risks. If you can’t swim or have some other issue, go to blue bayou and ride the lazy River there. Go to a pool.
Just because bad things can happen doesn’t mean everyone else should have their fun spoiled.

And when the deceased turns out to be a non-swimmer that maybe doesn’t match that description, you gonna change your tune?

Did they not say last week it was shut down for the time being due to the current?

I can't believe they still do this. They were talking about banning it and I thought they did 35 years ago when people died.

It's really incredible to see this board suddenly change tune and want the government to make decisions for them

They make the news every week because people pass up the spot where they are supposed to get out and float down the river until they have to call for help. The local authorities want them shut down but they aren’t doing anything wrong.

Mortality rate of tiki tubing has to be higher than covid

You are the same sort of person that wants to ban alcohol because they don’t drink.
Prohibition, of pretty much anything, doesn’t work.
There are inherent risks involved with LIFE. You ban this, you’ll just have unorganized parties of people floating down the River in all manner of contraptions, and MORE deaths.

They are providing tubes and transportation. There’s absolutely nothing anyone could do to stop a regular citizen from bringing their own tube and transportation and float down the river.
