This dope expects small businesses to compete with the Federal government who is crowding out private employment?
Joe Biden told a restaurateur to simply pay staff more at a town hall on Wednesday night when asked how his administration planned to get people back to work after increasing unemployment benefits by so much that business owners now say they can't compete.

The President was speaking at a half-empty town hall in Cincinnati when he was asked by Ohio restaurant owner John Lanni how he planned to resolve the labor crisis unfolding across America. Lanni owns the Thunderdome Restaurant Group which has 39 restaurants across the country. He said he, like thousands of others, can't find staff willing to take restaurant jobs now.
One of the reasons restaurant owners have cited is that people have earned more than ever in unemployment benefits. At the height of the pandemic, people were earning as much as $16-an-hour in COVID payments. Twenty-six states have ended them early to get people back to work and in those states, more people are taking jobs.

Restaurant needs to raise prices.

The Federal government collects taxes at gunpoint.
The term scarcity is not in their vocabulary.

This is what happens when people who don’t know economics get to set policy.
The restaurant business is so cutthroat that any costs taken on get eaten by the restaurant because raising prices means that people will look to competitors instead.

As a former Econ major, I can attest that most liberals you talk to know zilch about economics. Money is some sort of thing that people get and give. It’s truly magical.

Raise wages? You mean outbid unemployment checks. Fat chance.

Because a BLT and fries should cost $28.50.

These are the same assholes who fly in authentic Chicago pizza from Illinois to DC as a treat for their staff. They have no clue what shite costs.

Never owned a business, but his 1st wife’s dad did, 50 years ago, so Blue Collar Joe can tell us how to run our lives.

The Feds used COVID to introduce UBI without the public realizing it.

Menus were already underpriced before covid.

This. That's why they keep extending it. Calls to go beyond September are already out there.
My daughter is working her way through college by waiting tables at a white tablecloth restaurant in Lexington. There is such a shortage of service staff around town that she gets 2-3 business cards each week from people trying to hire her away.

They are offering and paying more and still can’t find workers. This administration is so out of touch with what’s going or just like lying about everything.

businesses need to create a blacklist for people who refuse to return to work.

That is the goal. A back door minimum wage increase.

Problem being that these places are offering over minimum now and can’t get anyone.
Arbitrarily changing the minimum wage doesn’t make people show up to take jobs, especially if they don’t lose unemployment for ghosting interviews.

People got distracted a few weeks ago by the fact that he was whispering, but this is exactly what he said then. He said, "They're going to be getting checks in the mail this week that are consequential."

This is exactly what he was saying.

We tried to go to Dairy Queen a few weeks bsck to celebrate the end of my Son's baseball season.
Sign said closed because not enough employees. I thought surely the DQ in the middle of summer would be able to hire some high school or college kids. This particular DQ is usually constantly slammed all summer long. Crazy
