CBS told the SEC to pound sand when TAMU and Mizzou joined and the SEC remained pretty bitter over it.
How do we know ABC/ESPN won't do the same to us? Have we already signed everything?
That was a reactionary move that didn't move the national TV needle (it was for cable money). This is a very proactive move that ESPN/Disney wants.

Is there even a number they would have to get to, to be accepted, i think it would be very hard to get that number.
i can see 4-6 lock, no's, before even looking at others votes

I can see two (A&M and Mizzou). After that its going to be tough for schools to turn down an extra $10-$15M a year.

And lol all the SEC fans sucking Tejas and OU's dick.

Because LSU would either wind up in a pseudo Big 8 division,
If you go back to the Big 8 here is what you get:
2 Big 8 schools (Oklahoma, Missouri),
3 Southwest Conference (Ark, Texas, Texas A&M)
3 SEC Schools (LSU, Ole Miss, Miss St.)

I could see sankey swinging a dick on Mizzou if he needs to. Just “hey we threw you a life raft when the big 12 fell apart”
I don’t think he’ll need To. UGA isn’t scared of tech. Florida could say no
I see of the SEC falling in line
I would love to be in the room for these talks. Even more, I would love to be at the hotel bar after

You guys are such delusional fricks.
Sankey ain't swinging any dick at Missouri, you guys need to stop.
And SEC threw Missouri nothing, Missouri had a B1G bid if they wanted it, but refused to be a junior member and take less share of cash. SEC said welcome if you choose to leave, here is a full share, and we get St.Louis and KC markets for next TV dealio.
People and markets set TV contracts.

Then only 2 of the remaining 12 to vote no and they are blocked.
They're getting in. Too much money involved, and the Big 12 are on the verge of imploding. Texas and OU bring heaps more to the party than TAMU and Missouri ever could. Rumors around Austin are this has been in negotiations for a while. The ultimate super conference.

I get why A&M doesn’t want Texas in the SEC but I don’t understand why Mizzou would be opposed.

Maybe the big12 can finally get “Louisiana” now.

Mizzou doesn't want competition for their SJW crown

History. Shitty treatment by OU and Texas

Link?
Here's what I found.
Missouri wants Big Ten but isn't wanted
quote:
Never let it be said that everyone thinks the SEC is better than the Big Ten.
Missouri, all dressed up in a bridal gown and just waiting for a proposal, may move on from the Big 12 to the SEC. But the Associated Press has reported that the school would prefer an invite from the Big Ten.
One problem: the feeling apparently isn't mutual. The Tigers were all dressed up and ready to join the Big Ten dance last year, with the governor even publicly advocating for the move. But the Big Ten was just not that into Mizzou. Nebraska was and remains a much more attractive partner.

You can laugh all you want but the point is true. Texas and Oklahoma will bring a ton of money to the confrerence.
Schools lost a ton of money from the Covid fallout, if Texas and Oklahoma can help recoup that money (and bring more going forward) the schools will vote for it.

From a viewer and fan base stand point, they’d be a another version of Georgia and Auburn. Big names? Yes. Biggest and best in the conference? Nah.

Why is it a terrible idea?
Because Texas will walk thru the door day one thinking they run the place causing hate and discontent.
