GTFO

I used to take 34 hr call with zero sleep. And then repeat q3 or q4 depending on coverage. Yes it sucked.

If it’s an issue, he can quit.

He's a grown man doing what he loves. If he isn't seeking legal advice, why are you?

My wife is an RN with a union. She works 12 he shifts. They do mandate nurses where they have to stay and work 16. She works every 3rd weekend Sat/Sun and 3 days a week on average.

Relax, he probably just has a guilty conscience over what he did to Edwin Edwards. He'll come to peace with it soon.

How demanding is it to work with hospice patients? I mean they are expected to die. All he has to do is administer pain meds. My dad died at a hospice. It sucks, but keep them out of pain and out of suffering. I mean no one is going to complain if they get extra doses of morphine, but some patients get nauseous so give them the anti-barfing drugs.

In all seriousness, and from everyone I've talked to or dealt with in that line of work, it is one of the most emotionally draining jobs you can have. Couple that with most Hospice services being run shorthanded, and I can see where the stress and drain can be a huge problem.

Just from the family and loved ones I've dealt with who have been on Hospice care, and from getting to know their nurses, I've seen a few who completely burn out. One of the best I've known, who is also a family friend, is a teacher now after being a Hospice nurse for less than ten years.

I've worked in places that wouldn't let you work over 16 hours. I've also worked in places where I'd get off at midnight and clock back in at 6am.

There are "laws" and there are "policies". That doesn't mean they're actually followed.

An RN can get a job anywhere… he must be on drugs to want to stay there

Name one state that has a law against working more than 12 hours.

Who does he work for?

Got the number handy?

His initials would help too.

Sounds like you should get a fricking life. That’s what’s wrong with kids these days. Their parents coddled their arse growing up and turned them into pussies
