Hannigriff thinks Myles Brennan will be the starter against UCLA

Hannigriff was on Jordy’s show this morning and he thinks Brennan is the starter for the season opener. He didn’t give any reasons but Jordy disagreed. He said everybody that is inside the program and around it says they think its Max Johnson and the wide receivers are always working with Max. He is being told that Max has that it factor that Myles doesn’t have.

Need to let Max start but Brennan get to play meaningful snaps throughout the year. Makes defense have to prepare for both quarterbacks each week.

everyone knows it'll be miles. i wish it would be max but, it's gonna be brennan.

I dont know who it will be but the best thing for the program will be if Brennan can win the job. We'll be much better off having Brennan with Max and Nuss behind him grooming for the next few seasons than having Brennan transfer and being one injury away from a wrecked season.

It’s obvious it’s going to be Myles and if you don’t think this well you have a surprise coming in September.

The it factor is Max's ability to run.
When LBs are defending Max and the OL run blocks, the LBs don't know whether to stay back and defend the pass or crash down to defend the run. If they crash Max will just throw over their heads to the crossing WR over the middle. If they drift back into coverage Max keeps it and runs for 4 to 10 yards.
With Brennan, since he is no threat to run the LBs just drift back taking away the middle. And they are not afraid, because they know if Brennan tries to run they can recover and make the tackle for a loss, no gain or very little gain.

Johnson and his mobility gives you the best chance to beat Bama. Saban would pimp slap Brennan.
