respectfully disagree. the best thing for the program is to play the best person at each position. I reckon it will be difficult to objectively figure that out, but the coaches are qualified to sort it out in camp (if they don't already know).

I agree wholeheartedly. If the Brennan vs Johnson film study thread didn’t change anyone’s mind I don’t know what to tell you.

When I looked at the film Max consistently scanned the entire field and looked off safeties before throwing. Brenan rarely scanned half the field and stared down his first option many times. Did Max throw to his first option? Sure, when they were open. But he goes through his progressions much smoother and has the fifth option, run.

All the videos I see of Max is football related. Every video I see of Myles is on a boat fishing or hunting.

Max isn't stone-footed like Myles but let's not act like he is fleet of foot. He got ran down pretty easily a few times last year. He isn't as dual threat as people make him out to be.

When I look at film I see that Max was definitely poised as a freshman. I also saw that he was clearly a less talented passer.

Myles is definitely the better passer.

I agree. But Max can run. Not the greatest at running but running is in his repritare allowing the OC to call more plays. The RPO is a real thing to opposing defenses when Max is under center. No LB is scared of Brennan's RPO.

I still say when we look back in a few years.. between Myles, Max, Nuss and Howard... Max is the least talented of that group. That's not saying he's awful, those guys are just really good

100%.

My main concern with the QB group right now is not depth. Depth is fine. My main concern is ceiling. Nuss currently has the highest ceiling but we know he's not starting.

This is a tricky spot for the coaches because naming Max starter right off the bat means Myles tranfers and you're left with no one with any experience behind Johnson and are looking for another transfer QB.

He shouldn't yet. I think he wins out when Myles is gone if Howard doesn't. Downside to finally recruiting qbs well is not all will stay.

And Brennan has NO touch in the short passing game along being a sitting duck with happy feet in the pocket.

Brennan of a couple years ago? He's developed really good touch. He absolutely was not that guy last year

Myles' passion isn't football. I don't know why that's so hard for people to grasp.

Max was born and raised to play football. That's all he's ever known.

There's a reason Brennan is competing against a true sophomore as a 5th year RSJr. Those in the know, know. And they know that Max will be the man. They may try to keep Myles around by giving him the start against UCLA but he's not the guy.

We have no spots left thanks to major burns. Hope he’s worth it.

I agree. And for this reason I think Myles starts. At the same time I think Max should start because he give us the best chance to win games right now. But I do believe Myles will start and Max needs to remain committed and ready at a moments notice. Why? I just don't think Brennan is that durable and his playing style has a high risk of injury.

No... the reason that competition exists is Myles got injured. Max can be as committed as anyone can be.. that doesn't make him more talented.
