He was a sitting duck with happy feet in the pocket and his touch is still rough.

Hopefully they can figure it out without losing a game. If LSU can get past UCLA, the schedule sets up nicely to allow for the competition to linger into the season. Gotta have your guy for 9/25 at State though.

No... the reason that competition exists is Myles got injured.

His injury isn't a concern inside the building as far as talent. Longevity, sure.

Max can be as committed as anyone can be.. that doesn't make him more talented.

This is just dumb. His "between the ears" work is what has given him the jump.

His injury is the only reason Max started a single game.

Throwing for 1112 yards 11 tds 3 picks in 3 games doesn't get you benched on any team.

Max only started because Myles was injured. Irrefutable

Hannigriff was on Jordy’s show this morning and he thinks Brennan is the starter for the season opener. He didn’t give any reasons but Jordy disagreed. He said everybody that is inside the program and around it says they think its Max Johnson and the wide receivers are always working with Max. He is being told that Max has that it factor that Myles doesn’t have.

Big Meh for me. We just have to wait and see.
Here's a thought: Nobody has mentioned if Myles can actually play without getting injured again... Let's see how he responds to contact.
That's always a concern for me about Jeaux and Max and guys who aren't afraid of contact---and might actually even look for it.

Need to let Max start but Brennan get to play meaningful snaps throughout the year. Makes defense have to prepare for both quarterbacks each week.

such nonsense. Does Bama do that? Clemson?

No, you play your best guy and don't waste downs or entire series sticking in the no. 2 QB.

Now, if the offense is struggling and you want to try some different to light a spark then yes, you can try the no. 2 QB.

But if the offense is doing fine, don't mess with it.

That doesn't mean his premise is incorrect? Making the most out of your opportunity and only getting to start because of an injury are two separate things.

When Myles wins the starting job, Max Johnson will not play another down for LSU football unless it’s due to injury. You have Nuss and Walker Howard who are just too talented and also have that “it” factor.

Myles Brennan suffered a serious freak injury last year, and should not lose his starting job to Max Johnson because of the success Johnson had at the end of last season. I believe Brennan want to show everyone he is back full strength and will battle through the competition in camp. He has the maturity, the arm and the knowledge to run a new offense with the skilled positions all around him. Max Johnson will have his time as the starting QB, but it won’t be this year as long as Brennan is healthy.

One throws a pretty ball and looks like a NFL 1st rounder in practice and with protection.

The other one has instincts, poise and makes the plays when they count the most.

A Championship QB doesnt always have to possess unreal athleticism and/or an arm that can throw it out of the stadium.

In fact, it rarely does.

Except that's not true. Look at all the situational stats. 3rd down and red zone, Brennan was better.

I just think the "if he hasn't shown it by now" argument is silly.

Myles has lost the starting job twice, and both times to grad transfers. Once when he was really young and undersized, and once to the GOAT college QB. In his first year of actually playing he was putting up numbers that LSU fans would have only dreamed about before Joe Burrow.

People blame him for losing a couple games and conveniently ignore how horrible the defense and OL play was. If LSU had a defense from any of the other 19 previous years Myles starts the season 3-0. Football fans, especially LSU fans, saying it's the QB's fault we are 1-2 when that quarterback has 1100 yards and 11 TDs in those games....... I feel like I'm taking crazy pills
