So help me God...Microsoft sucks

The last four times Microsoft has installed updates on my computer it has erased all the extensions and bookmarks in my browser and every browser other than Microsoft Edge gets completely uninstalled. I would rather eat a can of fresh bugs than try to go through the labyrinthic hell hole that is Microsoft's support system. What is going on? Is this happening to anyone else? I use the pay version of Malwarebytes and it has given no warnings of any malware or viruses. I am getting so pissed at having to refind my favorites and redownload my extensions every other fricking week if not sooner.

i have extensive bookmarks and extensions on chrome and mozilla and they never get blanked with MS updates
*ETA: do you have accounts with either? both companies store all that data in the cloud. anytime i get a new computer i just have to login and *poof* they're all there

Someone just got added to a list.
I guess you have determined that it's not your ISP doing it?
I don't use Windows so I might not be of much help, but let's nail down a few more details.
Does any of your personal data get deleted, like things in your Documents folder?
Is it only web browsers that get deleted, or any other programs as well?
Were all of the deleted browsers installed very recently?
I don't think this could happen, but it kind of sounds like it's reverting back to a restore point.
And to ease your pain if it keeps happening, I'm pretty sure all browsers have a feature to import and export bookmarks. I would probably export them to a thumb drive or cloud drive.

I was thinking it's logging him into a new temporary guest profile or something like that. I've encountered that issue many times working on Windows 7 systems but haven't seen it on Windows 10 though.

I've been using Windows 10 since the day it came out and never had this problem. Like someone said, sounds like you are getting logged in with a temporary profile or something.
Especially the part about browsers getting uninstalled...this just doesn't happen. I'd be really interested in some screen captures of exactly what you are seeing after these updates.

Yeah, if a windows update was systematically uninstalling competitor's web browsers there would be multiple news stories about it. Something must be happening to break or "hide" them from him.

Maybe they are in cahoots with the ISP and working to suppress the stories

Only people who threaten to firebomb them.

Seriously, though, has not happened to me.

Manjaro ??? Haven't seen that in a LONG time... last release was 10 years ago??? That would explain the 3G of RAM on an Intel i3.

Wait until you get Windows 365.

Edit: You're probably thinking of Mandrake.

Yup sure was. I should have looked closer, 5.x kernel would have been a dead giveaway.
It might be close but think ancient Mandrake would be more enjoyable to use than windoze.

Manjaro is bleeding edge, just behind Arch. Using 3/8GB because I am running KDE Plasma with a lot of bells and whistles enabled. I never max out unless I am editing photos. My laptop is from 2015, so yeah its showing its age. Runs like crap with Win10... Runs great with Linux.

Just download the Media Creation Tool. Sounds like your setup is jacked up.

By now you should be backing up all your personal stuff (to thumb drives and/or cloud drives) and syncing your bookmarks and what-not to the cloud (with Chrome or Firefox).
