And? Doesn’t mean it’s gonna happen. Guess we will see how desperate Griff is.

I mean yeah. As soon as they got 10 I said that needs to get traded.

Dont think they should depending on player received. Cost controlled assets are what sustain long Championship runs.

No shite. He’s not going to trade it for Jackson Vroman.

There may not be enough sellers to get a guy worth it. But he’s certainly trying.

I could see a deal similar to what Suns did a few years ago. Trading 6 for 11+Saric.

Get a guy with a contract a team doesn’t love that is still a good player and move back a few spots.

I would do a deal like that but they need to make a pick or two in the first round.

Why trade for a star when we can get our star in Bouknight?

You’ve heard some people kind of whispering that Griffin is trying to move but other teams aren’t biting. Which isn’t a surprise.

I’ve always believed aside from getting a stud there isn’t any guy that’s going to move the needle for this team that would be acquired in a trade for the pick. If this team takes a step it’s going to be because of growth from within, with guys like Zion, BI, NAW, Hayes, Kira, etc all taking a step forward.

So with all that said go and get you a guy you like at #10. If you have to move up, do it. You have all that draft capital and you won’t use it or trade it all at once. So if you think a Scottie Barnes, Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, Bouknight, etc are potentially guys that you think could move the needle for you in the future be aggressive and go get them.

I don't want to get rid of the pick. I actually want to move up. I wouldn't mind trading down, depending on the assets. But this is horrible team planning. It's Groundhog day over and over. We keep making these same mistakes.

Without including Bledsoe or another contract, can we take on much more salary? With our current deals and cap holds, we have less than 18M to add someone, right?

Of course you think that because you’re a guy obsessed with the draft. There’s nothing wrong with that, but that’s your bias.

This year is the only year that matters. There’s no other year in David Griffin land. It’s this one. Or he’s gone.

The probably of landing a legit long term player in a trade for pick 10 is probably less likely than landing a legit prospect with the pick. It will most likely involve a bunch of pieces and those don’t go our way typically. We haven’t straight up won a trade since Jrue.

Jrue got traded last offseason. How many deals have we made since then?

Let me rephrase. We haven’t straight up won a trade since we traded 2 firsts and received Jrue from the sixers*

That’s essentially my point tho. We just traded Jrue for Bledsoe adams and a bunch of late 1st.

Can’t win the Boston Marathon before you can walk. You have to actually make championship runs to sustain them, and unless you get super fortunate and find a late gem, chances are the guy they take there will never help them get to contender status.

If there’s a guy they love at 10, fine. If not, go upgrade the roster or get off Bledsoe (which is also an upgrade).

Was going to say the same thing. We have to sustain a "making the playoffs " run first. Hell just make it there this upcoming season

A "bunch of late 1sts" is a heck of a haul for a guy with 1 year left on his deal that was going to leave any way.

And we don't know that they're going to be LATE firsts. If Giannis doesnt win a ring in the next few years and decides to request a trade, those picks will be very valuable.

That's why I'd like the Suns to sweep the Bucks. That and hopefully we get our HC hire done sooner.

Then overpaid Adams and now the line is how many 1sts will it cost us to dump Bledsoe and Adams
So we got nothing for Jrue but junk
