You give me one of these seven and I will be clapping-hands happy:

Corbin
Vitello
Johnson
O’Connor
O’Donnell
Godwin
Bakich

But since this thread is about Godwin, he’s got a reputation as a hard-nosed competitor with attitude whose players emulate him.

That’s just what LSU baseball needs.

ECU is known for baseball. It's a baseball school. For someone to say Cliff is doing well a lot a school that doesn't have a history of good baseball it automatically shows you don't follow the game on a national level

I firmly believe he was the reason we got to Omaha in 2014 and not Bianco

No thanks. I'd rather a coach that has been to Omaha.

Bianco is available. Y'all take him, we take Godwin. Everyone wins

I'm not sure if its the ropers making things up, but some are adamant that he has some similar issues as Sully

He definitely looks like a Cajun, and not the raging type.

While ECU isn’t a powerhouse, the program has had baseball success prior to Godwin going there.

They have decent history, but the 5 years prior to Cliff being hired were pretty poor.

2010: 32-27
2011: 41-21
2012: 36-24-1
2013: 31-26
2014: 33-26
2 NCAA regional appearances. No hosts.

Since Cliff:

2015: 40-22
2016: 38-23-1
2017: 32-28
2018: 44-18
2019: 47-18
2021: 44-17
5 Regionals, 2 Supers. 3 straight Regional hosts.

Correct and he has brought them to 3/6 supers in their program's history in the last 6 years.

He has certainly elevated that proud program to a new standard.

50% of ECUs super regional appearances come from Cliff Godwin

Godwin or Johnson would be a great hire.

Much rather either over Jarrett who I don't even think is a serious candidate.

To be fair, Super regionals have only existed for 20 or so years. They started the Super regional format in 1999

You must have missed the part where they've made 26 regionals.

I don't think the person you replied to is suggesting that Godwin hasn't done well there. He's telling you that ECU is most definitely known for baseball, and those who act like he took over a dormant program don't really know what they're talking about.

But that isnt true

ECU isnt actually known for anything Sure baseball is their best sport, but they arent that great and surely not good enough to be known for it
