That doesn’t mean shite.
What do you want him to tell the media ?

The guy left his Alma Mater for job at TCU.
He expects Tennessee to show some Loyalty to the program.

The idea Scott Woodward was even interested in Vitello is entirely a message board creation.
He's a good young coach with fire, I think Scott is going for something else.

That doesn’t mean he’s staying at Tennessee.
He’s not my first choice, anyway. I’d take Corbin and Godwin over him.

if he is offered and stays at Tenn he will regret it for the rest of his life unless he gets another job in a few years at another baseball program

5-8 years down the road, we’re all going to say, “Man I’m glad TV never became our baseball coach.” Tom Herman 2.0

He is likely staying

He has likely never been offered by lsu

The Tony Vitello hype here reminds me of all the Matt Canada bullshite on this board. This place essentially got him hired.
With that said, I think Woodward is hunting bigger than Vitello. He's made for Tennessee. He hasn't proved shite and neither has Tennessee as a program. Let them grow/fall together.

He is, and SHOULD try to use the LSU job as leverage to squeeze EVERYTHING he can out of Tennessee. He will NEVER have a better opportunity to do it. You get LSU to raise the bar and demand Tennessee match. Or, you get Tennessee to give you massive upgrades and salary...then tell LSU to exceed it!
Either way, you get as close as possible to getting everything you ever want NOW...because it is very unlikely he will EVER be in this position of leverage again.

This is like when Nick Saban was in Miami saying he hadn't talked to Alabama and then 12 hours later he was stepping off the plane in a houndstooth hat?

Once he used the word “loyalty””, he ain’t coming. You can be sure it means something to him, and he won’t be going back on it.

I read that as him putting Tennessee on notice about investing in the program.

Was he ever even interviewed? I'd say highly unlikely he'd have been offered.

I'm not sure he's Herman 2.0. Winning at Houston in football is a hell of a lot easier than winning 50 games at the worst SEC Baseball program there is only 4 years after you arrive there. I think he will take whatever team he's at to a national power status. Tennessee being added to the already massive list of those types of teams in the SEC isn't good for any of us.
