The Past is Wrong.

American Museum of Natural History. You know, the place memorialized in Night at the Museum with Robin Williams playing Teddy Roosevelt a mere fifteen years ago.

quote:

The understanding of statues and monuments as powerful and hurtful symbols of systemic racism became even more evident in the wake of the movement for racial justice that emerged after the murder of George Floyd,” Dan Slippen, vice president of government relations at the museum, said at the meeting. “It has become clear that removing the statue would be a symbol of progress toward an inclusive and equitable community.

Yahoo/New York Times link.

What kind of planet looks at Teddy Roosevelt and compares him with George Floyd? Then, actively "chooses" George Floyd?

I’m almost to the point where I support replacing literally every statue in America with a statue of George Floyd so we can have a constant reminder of who he really was and how dumb and misguided this deification of him has become.

Martin Luther King? frick you, you’re coming down. Here’s a George Floyd. And just go on and on until there’s no one but a George Floyd in our parks and museums.

Let's do it.

I wonder how hard it would be to re-carve Mt Rushmore. Maybe go with GF in grade school for one of the faces, GF when he played basketball for another, GF when he held the gun to the woman's belly would be dramatic, and then of course the 4th face being GF as he's martyred on that sacred Minneapolis street.

“You can just put the statues in a museum, it’s not like they need to be on the street. They’ll be safe in a museum”

It’s amazing how quickly they change their narrative, it’s only been a year

The people who vote for these people (or for the people who appoint these people) have to be the dumbest individuals in the history of the earth.

I still haven't gotten over just how many millions of people in this country are so stupid, so ignorant, so gullible, so miserable, and just hateful wretched worthless people. It's hard to be patriotic with this disgusting shell of a country America has become

I totally understand. He got the usual liberal vote. But then, I bet he got a lot of the college/just graduated vote since he promised to wipe out their student loans. After he was in office though, he backtracked on that one.

I hope everyone who voted for him is finally seeing just how bad this administration actually is and is ashamed of playing a part in bringing this on us.

Remember the good old days when they said statues that are racist in today’s society belong in museums?

this is not about Teddy, people on both sides love and revere Teddy, its just a shitty statue.

CRT says America was set up to elevate one race over another and yall lose your minds. this statue LITERALLY has the white American elevated over a Native and an African, theyre a step behind too, it looks like a perp walk. if you dont think thats racist, fine, its imperialistic at the very least. those are not 3 equals depicted there.

theres a billion ways to honor Teddy, the man did so much, this is not one of them.

Cope for being on the side aggregately responsible for the degradation of culture currently overtaking the United States.
